New to FL and a new F430 this week.

Hello All,

I am new to FL, as of today and last week picked up my F430 Spyder. I am trying to figure out how to get pics up, but it is Grigio Ingrid with Bordeaux interior, and a Bordeaux top.
I have some basic maintenance questions please.
My PPI shows front brakes at 50-60%, dealer recommends change. What's the basic consensus, change now or wait. Rotors are fine.
Also, as this car is pre owned, or there anyway to ascertain and or verify previous historynetc of car through a Ferrari central database or some other venue.
Thanks for any forthcoming responses, and I look forward to being an active participant on the site.
Paul

Depends how good the record books were kept - check the book and who performed all the service work. If it's a Ferrari dealer they will most likely forward the service records.

As soon as you post some pictures the main dude around here will get you an owners tag.

Never seen Grigio Ingrid with Bordeaux interior before. Sounds very, very intriguing. Can't wait to see it!

You can ask for the service records at any Ferrari dealership. If Ferrari did the work, they should have a record of it, even if another dealership perfomed it.

If an independant shop did the work, you'd have to contact them specifically.

Welcome and post pictures!

Paul,
Welcome to F-Life.
Congratulations on your new car.
As mentioned in the last couple of posts, you should be able to get service history on your car if it was performed at a Ferrari dealership.
I am looking forward to photos of your car as well.

Paul- The brake wear algotithms for the CCM brakes are just an estimate based on heat cycles and not on wear. Plus Ferrari recommends changing out the rotors on the second pad change, which can run over $8K for a pair of rotors. So I would not want to change pads prematurely.

There is no database to help you find history except the commercial sites like CarFax etc. Previous dealers may be willing to help you with history, usually with personal data removed.

You should start a thread in the Member Introduction section down below so more people can get to know you.

don't see why it would be different on an ipad. there is a manage attachments button below the text box. click that. it will let you browse on the ipad for pictures. select the pick and hit upload. only some formats and sizes are allowed. I usually go with a jpeg at 800x600.

Ed- Andrew has an automatic resizing algorithm activated so you can put in quite a high res photo (3Mb or so) and the program will automatically resize it for you.

The entire interior is done in Bordeaux.
Dash, rear seat area, sills, steering wheel, roll bars, and the stitching matches paint color.
I just had all the interior plastic trim pieces painted to match the car color.
Was thinking about doing all exterior grilles, vents and rear diffuser the same.

i like the red top with the silver. saw a black 430 with a red top in tysons a couple of weeks ago and didn't like the look of it. would have went with black in that case myself. to each his own though. barchetta should go gaga over that color combo.

I think the red top is a 'love it or hate it' affair. Personally I'm in the former category. I think the red top looks great with the Grigio....
