Bought another Ferrari...

I've been quite busy lately with work and haven't been able to post and read as much as I like, but I have been doing other Ferrari-related items...

But, to back up a bit, I really learned to love the 550. The power band was unreal, the handling was so perfect - an ideal car. But, as I said, I've been working more than ever before in my life and decided it might be a good time to take the V-12 thing up a notch and bought a 599 GTB Fiorano F1. Nero Daytona over Nero Recaro Daytona seats - a lot of Daytonas in there! And lots of carbon fiber trim, Giallo calipers, et cetera...

It is in transit and should be here on Sunday.

I have some pictures from the dealer, but I'd rather wait and load my own photos. I am excited beyond belief. Funny how that happens.

congrats! Nero Daytona is the best color for a 599 IMO.

where in North Alabama are you? I have relatives in the Florence/Muscle Shoals area.

Colonel:

Please elaborate on the driving experiences between the two when you get experienced on the 599. Your direct 550 experience vs the 599 will be great to understand.

Congrats on the 599, one of my bucket list items.

Paul- Sounds beautiful. Are you working at Marshall SFC? Spent a lot of time there in the late 90s working X-37.

Well done - can't wait to see pictures.

I always like hearing about the hunt up to the purchase ... if you don't mind sharing the experience.

Huntsville. I go to the Shoals every once in a while with some musician friends - Muscle Shoals Sound is back alive and kickin'! A friend is recording an album (CD) there next month and I promised to take him over there in it, so I'll post a photo when that happens...

Cheers!

I never really considered one until I got the 550. From what I hear, the difference is like going from an F355 to an F430, i.e., YIKES!

Not totally planned, but none of them really have been. I'm calling it a 50th birthday present, but that's a real stretch!

Hope all is well with you and yours, Jimmy!

Consulted to MSFC some in the past. That center is truly touch-and-go. The commercial LV builders have exceeded a lot of goals and caught the old-timers way off guard...

X-37 was very cool!

How fabulous ! The enthusiasm. Congrats on your upgrade, nero recaro ! NICE !

I'm moving up in the Ferrari in a more daily, subtler method; I'm in an F355 GTS now (in 2000-2003, Mondial Cabrio and a 1/2 year 94 348 TS red on bottom and gated.)

I looked at many 550s, I love them. I'm a daily driver and I've had V8s, the 12, from Ferrari, I do not know- I know Aston Martin 12s, etcetera I'm not familiar with Italian 12s.

I've had the 550 poster in my office for 5-6 years, since i began looking for a Ferrari. I looked at 360s and I like the headlights, the exterior styling was more smooth and rounded, unlike the F355 GTS.

Anywho, That's awesome, guy.

The GTS Rosso Corsa and tan , from Sport Auto. Looking for a manual 360 Modena.
Past Ferraris:
1989 Mondial Cabriolet - Nero/Tan,
1994 348 TS

Well done. Of all the ones I have seen, Nero/Nero is the coolest color combination. Engine is great, it just pulls forever.
