599 GTO Crash

A 69-year-old driver wrecked his Ferrari 599 GTO in Czech Republic, east of Prague, on Monday evening. The driver lost control because of wet road conditions, ended up in a ditch on top of its roof next to the D11 highway. Police spokeswoman Ivana Ježková said;
''The driver did not conform to the conditions of the road. The vehicle skidded, became uncontrollable and ended up in the grassy ditch next to the highway.''
The driver was not hurt, and not under the influence of alcohol. The damage is worth 4,500,000 Czech crowns or approximately 180,000 Euro.

Ah, come on Luke. A new windshield, some bondo and a can of touch up, it'll be as good as new...

rain

you need to have your wits about you when driving fast in the rain,,i myself,,would rather drive my truck when its raining,,,especially in so cal,,,where lots of oil has soaked into the roads due to very little rain,,,so when it finally does,,,its really treacherous...accidents everywhere,,,with lots of drivers flipping whatever theyre driving,,,,

How many 599 GTO's crashed to date?

I wonder how many GTO's have been crashed already?

It's totaled but looks repairable; the question is --will it be done by someone.

How true is this!!!

If Richard Losee's MM Enzo can be resurrected after a 200mph crash, then this is absolutely nothing for the powers that be.

Quirky maybe, but the car wheels up reminds me of my Jack Russell sleeping on the couch with his feet in the air. I did preface this with with "quirky."

Don't you think that the car would probably worth much more as salvage parts than a rebuild?

That's a lot of bondo material and buffing to fix.

Watched the Italian Job by Jeremy Clarkson last night.

"Oh yes", the Ferrari mechanics said, "when it's wet - leave it in the garage. Impossible to drive". Their words. Impossible.
