Model Collecting - let's see em!

I have a tenant that sells models and is a car nut kinda guy to the extreme.

Always thought it was sort of a weird business model no pun intended and didn't understand the addiction until yesterday.

As I pulled up there were a few exotic cars parked outside and what appeared to be normal people / car guys perusing the store.

I completely forgot about my obsession with matchbox / hot wheel cars and tracks where I spent endless hours on building tracks.

It all came back and man did I learn a lot by the customers and management about the significance of these models. The quality is unbelievable a few have leather seats!

Arrived at 9 a.m. and left at 11:30 - had a great time and left with a few toys.

No idea where they are going to go or how to display them - ideas?

Excuse the mess - we are just beginning to move in

Thanks Steve ... it's a cool way to learn about the heritage of these cars.

I hope this thread takes off - be neat to see how people display their collections

where'd you find the sharknose F1 model? I don't collect models but I'd love to have that one. (I have a crappy one made by Hot Wheels in 1:64)

Cept the damn bar was out of Vodka - sorta

Went over to Designs in Motion Sat morning - listening to his passion about the models was surprisingly interesting.

I got a nice collection for 1585 which just happens to be the same $$$$ as his rent

Sharknose was my first pick the Mercedes was my last.

I paid 249 for every car ... excluding the F40 & 288 GT0 which were from a collection for 70 - no boxes.
