Would like to buy late model ferrari.........must be cheap!!!!!

Kidding, but maybe got ya guys to look

I'm a little more realistic than that......Starting the quest and the forums seem to be usefull, so here goes.

Looking for a 348 or poss 355, must be red, must not have a roof,..... that's the extent of cast in stone req's I have formulated. The arguments for the rest of the details are many.

My determinations so far, and this is just a few:
- 348 - more of raw car / simpler car.
- 355 - more car / more complicated car.
- Not so sure on ultra low mile cars, not driven, not exorcised (just like it's spell'd), having said that I think over 40k is alot of miles.
- Cars without history make me nervous, livable possibly, but hmmm
- Later 355 as opposed to earlier.
- Poss better as manual as opposed to F1

My urge to just "buy one" is overruled by some semblance of common sense, but I'll get over that. Been thinking about it for a while and it's time. Not much of a bio. sorry people if you want to know just ask. I am versed in expensive, non-revenue producing activities so that will not be overly foreign to me.

ps: do you guys qualify me? like could I get kicked of the island?

Some of my choices - comments welcome

I would take a look at the F355. Compared to the 348, I think the F355 will be a future classic, more desirable car. It is a very beautiful car.

I've had a F355 GTS in the past and I was very happy with it! Never had any problems in the 10k miles I've driven it. And the GTS targa roof gives you the best of both worlds!

Good luck on your search for a Ferrari. Whatever you will buy, you're gonna love every minute of it

A late 348 spider is a compelling argument. 94/95. All of the bugs are worked out and HP is up over the earlier versions.

A 355 GTS is also compelling as they built less than 500 of those. With a proper tune you've got 360 power without the 360 size.

+1 on loving it no matter what you decide.

Current: 85' GTS QV
It's a simple process...... it's just complicated by human beings....

If you are looking for a 355 or 348, i strongly recommend getting one with a roof.

Hi Tim and Welcome to Ferrari Life.

Gee, this post looks familiar. Did you cut and paste it from someplace else? (LOL)

To your point regarding the taste of 348/355 they are indeed very different cars with amazingly different feels. Both have there strengths and weakness's. I prefer the 348 for it raw and instant feedback. that, to me, is why I wanted a Ferrari to begin with. Please make sure you drive both before deciding.

Ain't that the truth.

Tim - I wouldn't necessarily worry about a car with 40,000 miles provided it's been properly maintained and service is up to date. My 360 has 44,000 miles on it and runs like new. In fact I would say cars that are regularly driven and maintained are more problem-free than the ultra low mileage ones. At least that's been my experience.

Cheers.
