Greetings people, bought my very first Ferrari last week and thought I'd tell you all how utterly delighted I am with it!!

I've bought a Black 612 Scaglietti F1 with the HGTS package - sabia daytona leather with black inserts which I think is a stunning combination.

Something Jeremy Clarkson once said in one of his videos stuck with me when reviewing the Scaglietti 'you've got a good car, a better car, the best car and then you've got the Ferrari 612'
Well I know he talks pants most of the time but I totally agree with him here.

Just love the way it's so comfortable and luxurious one minute and then in an instant can turn into a ferocious wild animal the next! I think the HGTS package with the noise from the sports exhaust probably plays a big part here. lol...
Feels so light, nimble and quick for such a substantial car.
It's just so practical too, I need the back seats for my two young children and need the boot for my son's pram too!

I know the styling divides opinion but I absolutely love the way it looks, muscular and elegant at the same time.
I've come from many years of Porsche, my favorite was my 911 turbo. I also had a brief stint in a Maserati Granturismo S but my Ferrari is in a different league altogether.
Loving it so far and hope to report more on the forum and seek advice when I need it.

all the best to you all

Congratulations and welcome. The HGTS pack is a great option. Drove a 612 at Goodwood a couple of years ago and was very impressed.

Are in the UK or US?

Marcus!

Congratulations! I understand you fully. I'm on my second Scaglietti and I don't even have a family. I bought them because I wanted the best continent crosser money can buy and nothing beats it in that field. The extra seats are a bonus whenever I treat friends or friend's children to a Ferrari ride. I also use the rear seats as extra luggage space with soft duffy bags in matching colour tied down by the rear seat belts. This is a great feature when you travel with a woman as they tend to be very happy when unrestricted by luggage limits.

The Fiorano comes close to being the perfect continent crosser but the Scaglietti takes the cake imo. When I cross the border between France and Spain I normally go via the mountain roads in the Pyrenees where it is almost as good as a Fiorano. It has the right weight distribution for perfect balance and the right Ferrari feel but you can enjoy the Bose system fully at motorway speeds. For a sportier Ferrari I think it is wiser to get a 430 alongside your Scaglietti. It is difficult to satisfy both long distance sportiness and agile, snappy sportiness in one car. That is the reason why I never bought the Fiorano and opted for both the Scaglietti and the 430. I have been very close to buying the Fiorano I have to admit though.

As for looks, most sceptics need to see the Scaglietti with the right wheels, in the right colour and in the flesh to realize the elegance of the design. I enjoy not seeing that many other Scagliettis on the road. It is an expensive car and for most buyers it makes more sense to buy a Fiorano and that makes the Scaglietti even more exclusive: fine by me!

Enjoy your fine Scaglietti, Marcus. Your colour combinations sound like a smash!

Salve,
Capo
