SA Aperta

Thoughts anyone?

Only 80 made, all pre-sold.

I think the front looks somewhat like a Nissan. The back looks elegant though.

Cool car, but too bad they gave it a name that sounds like a new brand of Italian bottled water

Aperta is Italian for "open"

Terrible name, OK car. Nothing to get really excited about, IMHO. Perhaps I'm getting spoilt?

The car. The name... This is the 599 spider. Period. There will only be 80 made with the name SA Aperta, but there will be many more 599 spiders. There are several 599 bodied Ferraris with different names... Hy-Kers, GTO, HGTE, etc., but they are all 599s. My guess is there will be more 599 spiders with new names as well.

At least I'm spoilt (or spoiled for you Yanks) because of all the lovely stuff Ferrari made in the past.

For me, this car features nothing new. It is the typical "last-of-the-line-let's-do-something-with-the-roof-and-flog-it-to-people-with-lotsa-money-by-polishing-their-ego-using-invitation-only" Ferrari trick. Que 550 Barchetta, 575 Superamerica, and 599 SA Aperta.

I think it is a nice conversion but it is not anything special that makes my heart go boom-tickety-boom. And it should not be a limited edition that is pre-sold, IMHO. The Murci Roadster isn't limited.

With so many limited editions...there might be fewer unlimited editions of each model

On the 599, the special editions must make up a very high % of the total production. 25-30%?
