'Slow Down' 'E Diff'

So I leave the house this morning and before I make it out of the neighborhood, there's a blinking signal 'Slow Down', then an 'E Diff' signal and another showing a gauge.

Little drops of brownish-red fluid under the right rear tire when I slowly pulled it into the garage. This can't be good. FoAtlanta mechanic was in a meeting. Any ideas?

No warrranty, but the mechanic alluded to the 'fact' that it would not be a major issue, i.e., less than $5k repair...

I have heard that some of the earlier 430's had this issue.

I believe some can be traced to bad differential oil and for some of the errors it's a sensor.

Get Redline in it!

was going to mention this but thought better: my mechanics are limited.

There is obviously some differential of opinion!

It never hurts to get the Shell oil out.

I would bet it's a sensor but I don't like the "leak" statement! Can you be more specific?

I am amazed that Ferrari has no vent in the tranny/rear end. When temps rise there could be a bit of pressure in there which could affect seals.

It has been a bad 2010 for Ferraris. For the first four Ferraris I owned, I replaced a total of one battery. $65.00. That's it for all four. Toto.

Law of averages rearing its ugly head?

Not all afternoon but now that I'm getting back to "normal" I am doing better.

I have been off the clock for over 3 weeks w/ I don't know what but it was awful!

Might just be a seal. DId the car sit for a long time before you bought it?

I can't say for sure, but it did only have 5,400 miles on it, so I'd guess that it did. Unfortunately the day that we noticed the leak was the very best it has ever run!

I hope to hear a preliminary analysis from the dealership today...
