Ferrari Virginity

Today at the Cannon Beach event sponsored by Ron Tonkin Gran Turismo, I rode in my first ferrari. It was a white 430 Scuderia. I think I understand now why a ferrari costs so much... it's like nothing I've ever been in before. It was almost unreal.

I'm really curious to know how it compares to the feeling of other ferrari's. I can't wait for the day I actually get to drive one!

it feels better than most ferraris. Except maybe some of the super cars. Old v12's excepted. Just a different feel for them.

Each one is different. Perhaps the most unique is the F40 when the turbos kick in ..........

i was surprised that the shifting of the gears was so noticeable in the car, it was really loud! I think the car was in "race" mode when we were cruising around, but if it was put into "sport" mode, would the shifts be more subtle?

is the f430 the same?

Not sure how you define "better" Ed. I preffer the older more harsh feeling of the standard suspensions of yesteryear. Anything newer than my 348 feels to much like a girly car. I didn't buy the thing for its creature comforts.

I suppose many will disagree and I must admit I've never been in a 430.

Lane, the Scuderia is anything but a girly car (and you know me - I've got a penchant for the old stuff so respect from me for a modern car is respect indeed!! ). It is also very different from a standard 430. Very brutal, very intense. I loved 212export's Scud.

@OP - nice to lose your virginity, I'm telling you that it only starts from here! All Ferraris are fun cars in their own way, and no model feels like any other model. They all stand on their own and all have their fans. Try and experience as many as possible, they all have something to teach you.
