1990 F40 On Offer

On offer from Mike Sheehan...

We are pleased to offer 1990 USA model F40 s/n 87181. A great driver, well sorted. 23,613 miles. If you want what is certainly both one-of-the-fastest and best priced F40s in America that you can drive and enjoy, this is it, priced right at $349,500 O.B.O..

This F40 is everything the production F40 should have been with over $40,000spent on upgrades including Ferrari LM turbos, Hyperflow cats, Tubi exhaust, straight cut drop gears, Razzo Rosa LM computer chips to maximize the engine upgrades and updated seat belts. This F40 will light up the tires in 3rd gear. Both seats were re-upholstered and tailored for a large driver. The body fit and paint are excellent. All paperwork and receipts from Carobu Engineering on file. Featured in European Car Magazine, copy on file. A great driver, well sorted. 23,613 miles.

What a beauty of a beast. I can only hope to ride in one, one of these days....

That price seems really low, I thought these were trading at the 500-600k range. Or is that the F50?

Cheers

I'm going to be talking with Mike today on this car - This F40 has a lot of miles on it (23k) so the value is significantly different from the ones offered for sale with 600miles (Collectors cars) which have asking prices in the 600-700k range. Having said that I'm not sure any F40 is been sold near these prices right now

that price? If sorted and not needing anything, which I'm about sure from Mike it doesn't seems a bit low or like the rest am I just way off on this?

BTW: Never noticed that before but are the foot-peds offset like the 348/Mondial-Ts?

Well I saw another F40 last week that was even less than this and had considerably less miles, so I guess thats what the market will bare..

Don't know who the 'other' is, but an acquaintance, we met couple years back had an unpleasant experience with the fuel cell connection going bad, as in gas rot. He apparently didn't drive it enough and the rubber bits inside were costly to fix. (Art/ 2000YELLOW360 knows him much better than I ).

Never had experience with Mike S. but from all the good rep I hear, and the nice emails etc., he would certainly be on the top persons I would see first. I understand his rep well pays whatever you want. Not saying others are not good, but he certains is a four-star approach in a small universe.

As far as price, based on what I have heard in the past year on F40's, in the ball park, but on the low side.

Price reflects the car

I'm guessing the lower-than-expected price has something to do with all the non-factory "upgrades" in addition to the miles. As a driver this may be an acceptable value, but as an investment this would definitely not be the car.
