This video is of the Ferrari Club of America, Mid-Atlantic Region's "Spring Thaw" at the Reston Town Center in Virginia. Fortunately or not, this video was shot in the late afternoon when most of the participants and attendees had left, yet it was easier to see the cars due to less people blocking the view.
At 2:50, you'll see Ron Spangler wearing a brown camelhair jacket, talking with a woman. Mr. Spangler owns Prancing Horse Farm in Maryland. He and Sergio Pininfarina were best of friends.
In 1979, Prancing Horse Farm Racing Team's (PHFRT's) #65 Competition Daytona placed second overall in the 24 hours of Daytona. In 1982, PHFRT's BBLM ran in First Place overall at the 24 Hours of Daytona until transmission failure. In 1992, PHFRT's #70 Competition BBLM placed First in its class and Sixth overall at the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
At last year's FCA luncheon celebrating Enzo's birthday, I remember Ron exclaimed, "There's lots of money in racing. I know, because I left plenty of it there."
