driveshaft boot

hi guys! when routing around for the oil pressure sensor i found a split driveshaft boot!is it an easy job or a nightmare?also when reading my gtsi handbook i was surprised to see the oil consumption rate for the 308 is it really a litre every few hundred miles!or is it badly translated?cheers woodyz!

Oil consumption rate varries, but that can certainly be the case. I've had times when not needing a full litre every 500 miles and then needing. Check the oil when the engine is properly warmed up to operating pressure and temps. I, stop, with engine still running, take out dip stick and clean, then put in and read perhaps a couple time. THEN, turn off engine and in <> 30 seconds remove stick and read which should read the oil on a dry sump engine.

I would get that boot replaced to make sure you have good lubrication and you keep dirt out.
