2010 F1 : Endless thread

Probably one of the many threads that will be created this 2010, F1, season. DON'T Forget to put in @@[email protected]@ in the title to keep it under wraps until the next day.

The start is only couple days away. I've already TiVOed on all sets all I can get that is being broadcast.

We will be BBQ'ing and watching it while it plays, and that is reason enough to wake up early and start the barbie early...

I'll start the predictions: Alonso will be #1 [ ]. and I don't want to say the constructor as it looks that close.

Hoping for Alonso and Massa to handle tires, and fuel load better than most but then, that is where ol' Shumi [ ] can do very very well.

Still looking to Ferrari to be #1, AND if NOT, then so close you couldn't slip a Euro-bribe note [from Brawn] between the 1st and 2nd place cars.

GOING TO be a great year. No fuel stops, less tires, less width on front tires, and a great host of drivers....

I hope that prediction is right Rik. Especially the bit about it being a great year. Lets hope the new changes for 2010 allow for driver skill to become the most important factor in the race... (well, that and a Ferrari engine...)

Ferrari's: 360 Modena, 550 Maranello
Ex's: Dino 308 GT4, 612 Scaglietti
The Rest: Rolls Royce Silver Shadow, Porsche 911 2.7s, Porsche 911 3.2 Carerra, Ducati 916... and the Land Rovers

I think there will be more overtaking this year since the Front Tyres are smaller these guys will have the handling on the edge

Rik - I don't know what time they are televising the race in California, but here in Florida its at 7:30 way to early to BBQ!

WOW Ferrari did a great job today, watching the post race interviews from Felipe and Fernando really showed how happy Ferrari is to be back on the front two rows, i think that Vettel's car is a little faster with no fuel onboard, so we'll see tomoro how he holds off the Ferrari's

Garage
Well that went almost to plan. I think Vettal would have had it in the bag though if his exhaust hadn't let go.
Good thing is the Ferrari's are running close to eachother which gives us a great chance to retreive the Contructors title.

As much as I love F1 (I was like a child all Sunday morning whistling Fleetwood Macs The Chain in anticipation) I have to be honest, I thought the race was pretty boring. Ferrari should re-employ Prost to show them the best strategy to run the cars without refueling.
Room for improvement, as I used to get on my report cards at school.

Roll on 2 weeks time.

Yeesssssszzzzzzzz

Exhaust could have happened to anyone, and they made a constructor's bad choice: so, this is a fair chain of events.

Off to a good start. Bad aspect for me was the great lead Vettle had for some time. I like the way they have the set up now for racing, except the final quals seems to be they wait till the last min. to save tires..other than that, very nice

its usually the teams that have their heads down that make the best improvements and i have hardly heard anything from Ferrari and Red Bull and they have got to a good start, i hope Massa wins, dont like Alonso for some reason.

I certainly was no fan in the first two 'wins' of his championship: Actually thought he played the odds too much and coasted: No sport in that!

I started warming up to him about two years ago and now believe he is a true driver, and a VERY good one, which I had my doubts about when I first saw him....sort of a refined Juan Pablo Montoya who ONLY appeals to me in his true home: NASCAR.

BUMP : Round 2 : Australia

any predictions: I'm guessing a mightly toss up, but Ferrari doing well. IF Red Bull gets their act together it'll be a nice race.

Red Bull and Ferrari heating the track in Melbourne... Hoping that Vettel can come home with the victory he deserved in Bahrain...curious to see if the same problems might happen in Australia...as Ron Dennis said that it could be problems with fuel consumption, higher than predicted, which meant a too litle fuel tank

Good luck...oh and also would like to Schumi coming near to the podium...think he will be fighting for the podium in the next races...he will be catching the youngsters!!!

Lewis Hamilton and Jenson Button set the pace early on with 1m 25.801s and 1m 26.076s respectively, and after the rain the closest anyone got to them was Mark Webber who vaulted up to third place for Red Bull with 1m 26.248s.

Results after the Second Practice this afternoon. Lets see what happens tomorrow....

third practice was as normal, you can see vettel was down there with the Ferrari's, Ferrari doesn't like to strut there stuff all the time, they most likely used the morning practices to test with full fuel loads.

I want to Race.
