Ferrari World Champions
This piece of automotive artwork by Danny Day is a limited edition acryligraph canvas that represents the Ferrari World racing from the early days through current F1 featuring champions Phil Hill and John Surtees.
Phill Hill's 1961 championship was the result of the toughest seasonlong battles in Grand Prix history. Hill drove his Tipo 156 Ferrari to victory at Monza, Italy to clinch the 1961 Driver's title.
John Surtees made his racing car debut in 1960 after previously capturing 7 world motorcycle championships for Team MV Agusta. From that point John Surtees went on with a long F1 career which included the 1964 world championship for Ferrari!
This piece pays tribute to both racers for their fabulous efforts.
It was featured at a special Ferrari event in La Jolla, CA, Saturday, January 24, 2004, at the local Ferrari dealership. Both Phil Hill and John Surtees were present to endorse and sign the piece.
It is very nicely framed with a large black face with a stunning red border to complement the coloration of the art piece. The frame is about a 4" flat black wood finish border.
The frame measures about 33 1/2" High X 45" Wide.
It is numbered 317 of only four hundred pieces in this limited series!
Again, it has been signed by Phil Hill, John Surtees, and Danny Day.
It is definitely a piece of history that will only increase in value over time.
