CONGRATULATIONS on a beautiful spider!!

You will love the thrill of driving a Ferrari for the very first time and it being yours! I never drove one myself til I got my GT4 in '08. One of the best feelings especially for lifelong "tifosi" !

Enjoy!

Congrats, your story is the same as mine. Just bought my first Ferrari, waiting for delivery, snowing here in London so delivery delayed.

GOOD LUCK AND CONGRATS!

Beautiful car you have there! Congrats.

You may already know this, but the F1 transmission will probably take a few drives to master. You'll notice that every time you drive it, your paddle shifting technique will get much better and smoother. Without thinking about it, you'll anticipate the up shifts and down shifts and make small adjustments to the gas pedal that you'll coordinate with your paddle shifts. A high-revving up shift from 1st to 2nd will get much smoother after several attempts. You'll probably never use the auto mode of the F1 once you get good at the paddle shifting.

The only scenario to be careful of, as a new owner of a 400hp Ferrari, is make sure the front wheels are pointed straight if you're going to attempt any high-revving launches. Lots of people have hit things or bent their cars when over-revving a Ferrari while making a 90-degree turn like at an intersection. The car "comes alive" above 5000 rpm's. Great fun on the track, by the way.

Good luck and enjoy it once the weather turns warmer.

Congratulations!!

The color combination is perfect, the daytona seats are the smartest looking seats I know. I think this car should be a keeper. If you don't have to trade it in next time you want a Ferrari, then don't! It is a keeper.

Good advice is to go to a huge empty parking lot, switch off all electronics and learn the car's behaviour when at its limit, preferably on wet tarmac. The Modena is an extremely complete sports Ferrari but it can be devious should you need to keep braking when starting to enter the curve. That can spin the car with little warning (provoke it on the parking lot). It can corner incredibly fast as long you're completely off the brakes before entering, rolling in balance through the curve. Exiting with excess throttle is much easier and fun to correct unless it is first gear and a 90 degree turn, like Toggie states.

Enjoy it big time!!

Salve,
