Not that I am aware of, David. Most likely it is because I use my cars most of the time for commuting and there's not much room for anything. You know what I mean ? There are often times, I get glares or photos taken, but otherwise, very much left alone.
Could it be that you are taking your car out early mornings/ late at night when such crowds come out of their closets ? Well, cannot be any worse than the Russians, I suppose. Enjoy. w/ smiles Jimmy

Not recently but used to happen fairly often. The F40 seemed to attract it on a few of my Sunday morning runs. Normally I would ignore but if they were very obnoxious and the road was clear I would use my right foot to put a bit of space between us.

It happens. That's basically what my experience is, even with my modest 328: it happens.

The weirdest thing though is that it's not necessarily the Porsche-crowd, or even the pimped 'n tuned hot-hatch guys. Actually, the latter usually just do a thumbs up (which I courteously reciprocate, why not?)

No, instead it's quite often Joe Shmoe in his Volvo V50, VW Golf TDI, Audi A5 or even bloody SUV who wants a bit of action. Then again, should I really be surprised given the somewhat mundane rides they've confined themselves to?
.

A horse is a horse, of course, of course, and no one can talk to a horse of course. That is, of course, unless the horse is the famous Mister F.

i usually don't get much of that. and i def don't entertain it. i usually studiously avoid making eye contact with the driver's around me anyway, in part because of that.

The only thing really irritating in my Ferrari, particularly in my 550, is the people that stick to the fast lane but refuse to overtake, overtake at 10 inch/hr speed differential, or worse, have no-one in the slow lane but don't move over.

(for people from outside Europe: the lane nearest the guardrail is supposed to be kept free, except when overtaking. Overtaking in the slow lane(s) is against the law).

It's irritating in my 550 because I'm past them so quickly - if they just scooch over they wouldn't even need to brake or lift the throttle. But a lot of them seem to have the "let's not race - I'm not even letting you past" attitude.

Ah well.

That's a permanent driving style in Ireland Onno. And it doesn't make a difference if the car behind is a Ferrari or a Fiat 500. 99% of the time the driver blocking the overtaking lane is oblivious to the fact there's a car there at all!

In my experience I love driving on the continent because of the relative "awareness" of other drivers and the fact that they stick to the correct lane!!

Ferrari's: 360 Modena, 550 Maranello
Ex's: Dino 308 GT4, 612 Scaglietti
The Rest: Rolls Royce Silver Shadow, Porsche 911 2.7s, Porsche 911 3.2 Carerra, Ducati 916... and the Land Rovers
