Mondial Arrived, Carpet Piece Missing

I'm a new member and my recently purchased beautiful red 1983 Mondial Cabriolet just arrived and is missing the driver's side bulkhead carpet piece, probably removed by the previous owner and lost forever. I really don't want to purchase a whole new carpet, but cannot find a resource for just the piece alone. Any ideas on who to contact in the U.S.?

separate piece of carpet

If you let me know what it looks like, I can probably duplicate the piece. I would need an exact tracing for size, the color and the binding color if it has binding.
I do my own carpets from scratch on my restorations. Only because I used to work with carpet laying and cutting for my Dad. I can even cut a logo into floor mats, if it's not too complicated, in contrasting colors.
Regards
Vince

Mondial Carpet Piece

Thanks for your response. Since it is the bulkhead piece and not easily accessible for measurement purposes, what would be the best way to measure for you?

Or you could just order a used piece from T. Rutlands or one of the other people/places who part out Ferraris.

Eurospares in the UK has parted out a few Mondials. Suggest you contact them.

It seems like there are many options available ( used piece, new maybe ) other than making a new piece, but if you can't get it, it's always possible to make. If you can get a tape measure in to the space to measure all of the different shapes and do a drawing of your measurements with a photo, I still may be able to figure it out.

thanks golden. Don't know about you service etc, but having your abilities here will be very nice.

I will be needing to replace some simple boot piece in my 456, and not really caring about the color matching....might just send it off to you

Hope you have success in finding the bulkhead piece of carpet. I am not in the auto carpet business to answer your question. I'm a hobbiest and just do my own work and have done interiors before on my own cars, including carpets.
Good Luck

NOT the 500's Bryan

geesch....your family 500 Mondial is peach without carpets, and honestly if put in would look less than good.

Naw......V8 Mondis were all so, uppidy in the comfort zone and all....instead of Grey Poupon it came with Balsamico in the glove.
