hi i'm new here...i currently have a 2007 Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder & love it. It is the rare rosso leto exterior and has 7k on it..The dilemma I have is last March when I purchased the car the factory 2 year warranty was about to expire. As a consumer making such a large purchase, I bought an extended two year warranty for $7500.00. I live in RI. Within one month Lamborghini Boston and Lambo CT both went under. I have had no problems with the car and my contract will cover a trailer transport to the nearest dealer (186 miles each way to NY) but I do not like knowing its so far if I had a real problem. We now here have Ferrari Maserati New England. I like the inventory and service people(I've been several times now.) My question is this: If I get an 09 430 spyder (putting obvious biases aside), is the low maintenance, reliability, and comfort factors all still there like with lamo? I posted the same query on the lamboghini forum and I know lots of people own both ferrari & lambo and got hundreds of views and zero responses. Thanks for honest responses

Hi Rosso Spyder,
Welcome to F-Life. Can't answer your Q with any definitive response (not being a 430 owner), but I expect that you would find similar reliability and comfort with a 430 vs. a Gallardo. Plenty 430 owners here though who I am sure will clarify that in detail though.

Post up a few pics of the Lambo - would love to see it.
Barry.

Having talked to multiple Gallardo and 430 owners, my impression is the 430 is as reliable and less costly to maintain.

430 owner for about four months and 800 miles. No substantive issues with the car, a rough start or two, but very minor for an exotic.

Never owned a Lamborghini, so I can't make a comparison that is anything except anecdotal. They are very different vehicles, in spite of seeming similarities.

I love the 430 - you can read a few of my posts elsewhere in the forum. It would be hard for me to believe you'd be disappointed.

Welcome to FLife and good luck, sir.

welcome: The 430 seems to experience many fewer problems in the 'new' Ferrari release grid, especially IMO vs the 360: 430 seems to be a much better vehicle although it has many more issues to consider [as the 360] in terms of qualified mech having the correct OBD tool to perform even the simple tasks.

As for the Lambo, sounds like awsome fun. Love their approach that car...sadly out of my range for the moment.

Don't know about your experience with exotics, but hope the 'new' dealership you mention has some experienced mechs there. Just because they are licensd to perform, doesn't mean they are all that great. As they are new, I hope they stocked the staff well.

Garage
From what I have read and talked to first hand owners of both the Lambo is the more street friendly daily driver of the two. The Gallardo engine is well defined and solid with Audi engineering to back it up. I have seen some with 60-80k miles on them already. My 2ct

I have nothing to contribute to your query but wanted to welcome you aboard. Its nice to see a Local, if CT is local. What part of RI you in? Perhaps we could cruise some time. Got one coming up soon if your interested.

Hello and welcome to FL, Rosso Spyder. I can understand your dilemna but it seems like your concerns at this moment is based on pragmatic reasons. I am not saying that such issues are not irrelevant. However, maybe you can change your viewpoint a bit and consider which car you would rather envision yourself to be indulged in. Maybe from such emotional standpoint, you may arrive at your decision. Do let us informed as to your thoughts and decisions. Good luck. w/ smiles Jimmy

man you guys sure are a lot more polite than the lambo forum guys....hahaha...seriously!...they are so snotty & rude even to eachother!...well thanks for the responses...the 09 spyder i was looking at was triple black and i can get it for two and a half but the 2010 lp560 also triple black was the same price...the only dilemma i had was having an authorized dealer for service which is the dilemma i currently have in my 07 car...bentley providence (besides ferrari new england) is the highest end place in my area and they currently do the annual flushing of brakes and oil change...thanks for the welcomes...how do i upload pics on this thing? to the guy in CT---i'm providence county.

Below the message box, there is a button to 'Go Advanced' - when you do that, you'll see the 'paperclip' for attachements in the tool box...

So, has the school bell rang yet? You don't want to be late! Did you study for that possible pop quiz in home-ec?
The other forum(s!) are always quick to call flakes out, because posts like yours FIT a PATTERN, yet the posters always think their jibberish is unique. Have you ever noticed that ALL scam-spam emails sound similar?

And welcome, btw! Hope to see you and the cars at a local venue.

Jungathart, I think you're being needlessly harsh. My impression is that the query is genuine enough and apparently I'm not the only one.

Nice ride. Almost subtle for a Lambo!

Looks very impressive, Rosso Spyder. Where are you located ? The background seems to be somewhere East, New England, maybe ?
Here in Tokyo, Lamborghini Japan set up their own dealers few years ago and Lambo's been quite popular. You do see quite a few zipping around on weekends. w/ smiles Jimmy

i know all about school bells having spent a quarter of a century listening to them through the doctrinal level...but my post is genuine...i mean come on...look at the crappy pics that came from my cell phone...anyway it seems as though timing is better for the 458 italia problem is they are not yet available in a spyder...i saw a white california with drop top(hard top convertible) but it sold quicker than you can say exotic...so i think i'm leaning toward the lp560 spyder
