Fiat 500 Tribute to Ferrari

695 Tributo Ferrari based on Fiat 500 Set for Surprise Frankfurt Debut

The urban stylishness of the Fiat 500 combined with the pure performance know-how of Ferrari? That just may be the proverbial match made in an Italian automotive heaven that will appeal to many, many people.

Unfortunately, there may not be enough of such a car to go around. Ferrari and Fiat's performance division Abarth have partnered for a limited edition series based on the Fiat 500 - to be called the 695 Tributo Ferrari.

But the car definitely aims to bring new meaning to the term hot hatch. For starters, the 695 will come in the traditional Ferrari color of Scuderia Red.

Performance will be boosted by means of a 1.4 liter turbocharged petrol/gasoline engine dialed up to 180 hp coupled to an F1-style 6-speed transmission with paddle-shift function. Suspension tuning will compliment the increase in power and a set of red Brembo brakes will sit behind the 17-inch alloy wheels made special for the occasion, referencing classic Ferrari design.

The interior cabin gets carbon fiber seats dressed in black leather while the steering wheel trim comes with red inserts to make for a true Ferrari color contrast of red on black.

More details such as pricing and the number of models to be produced are sure to follow when the 695 Tributo Ferrari debuts at the Frankfurt motor show next week.

This one is genuinely going to break my heart.
I've been trying to justify a loan for a long time now to fund a 500 Abarth and have kept putting it off A because I just can't justify it and B because I always said that if Fiat/Abarth can't be bothered to get their finger out and sell the car here (all to do with local Fiat dealer, long story) I'm not going to the mainland to buy one.
But this is something else completely. At a guess, they'll make 695 of them, only bring a handful to the UK selling them through Ferrari dealers, local one of which I don't really get on with, and I would say it's a pretty safe bet that if the Essesse is 18k here that one will be touching 20K

Bugger!

How cool. Maybe I should be changing the M3 for this as a new daily driver...
Have to give that some serious consideration...!

Aren't these the same as the cars Ferrari dealers were given last year for use as courtesy cars when clients cars were in for service?

They do look very nice though

The first set of courtesy cars had the 100hp 1.4 engine, the current set ('09) are Abarths (there was one on display at the concours). I think these are a new set. The Abarth ones are very nice, the old man was chatting to the dealer at the FOC who reckoned GBP23k, buy a 308 for that!!

Different car entirely Archie. The Ferrari ones were 1.4 Sports with a few bits added. These are based on the Abarth proper.

If we're looking at 23K I may go back to looking for a standard Abarth. Need to get the 308 sorted first and get the TR home so a bit of a wait.

Cute! and if the 'regular' Abarth is anything to go by - friend of mine owns one - this particular nugget must be quite the pocket-rocket...

That is pretty neat. I wouldn't mind owning one of those...but it would have to be a standard manual.
