F450 Government Test Mule Spied

The Italian super carmaker, Ferrari, is still working on the successor to their current F430 mid engine sports car. The latest spy shot reveals that the car is far from being on a state of completion, but also despite the speculation, the new V8 will feature neither a turbocharger nor the companyís Kinetic Energy Recovery System derived from the KERS unit on the Formula 1 car.

What the spy photo does reveal is just how wide those rear tires are going to be and how low to the ground the transmission is mounted. The one thing that is unclear is whether the two metal tubes are part of the intake manifold or if they are the new Fís exhaust. Judging by the size of the rear bumper support, and lack of a place to route the tailpipes without making them unnecessarily long, the future carís spent gasses could exit out the top of the vehicle in a manner similar to the F1 car. We will just have to wait until September to find out at the Frankfurt Motor Show when Ferrari unveils their latest creation.

Either way the carís 4.6 Liter V8 will develop 520 HP making the future Ferrari F450 more powerful than the factory tuned 430 Scuderia, and with a lightweight body should be faster as well. The exterior of the 450 will be designed by Pininfarina, as usual, and will be offered in both coupe and spider variants.

Something fishy to me about all these supposed "450" photos, and why are they coming from Czechoslovakia and not Italy?

I think these slowly leaked photos are a snow job!

I was wondering the same thing, but Mike is pretty good with his news stories, and the images to look very similar to the leaked pics and artists impression he posted a few weeks ago.

I think that Mike is really an insider in the PR dep't at Ferrari, and he keeps posting these scoops so they can guage opinion

Thanks for clarifying that Archie.

I wasn't questioning Mike. I have seen these pictures a ton of places from the same source and was just trying to gauge authenticity. It was becoming questionable when they were directed from a source in the Czech Republic!

I believe your assessment of Mike's position is probably correct.

Can we get a gauge of the age of that green mule?

is it me or what is the worth of using such a worthless body? I can't see it being used by the govt. to test emissions or crash work. What in the world is that an attempt at, just seeing if the parts fit in a sequence or such.

Oh well you guys guessed it. I'm part of the PR division at Ferrari and have been playing along all this time but maybe I've given too much away with this post and now my cover is busted

Well seeing that the secret is out, here are some more pics of the F450 being tested but this time we had to cover it with what looks like a rubber skin so we dont give away the real design underneath

P.S For any members and visitors reading this, we are only joking about me being part of Ferrari. I just wanted to mention that incase someone really thinks I am part of PR

I have only three questions:

A) Name and phone number of the lady getting ready to enter the vehicle;
B) Please give some explanation of the 3 pipe exhaust if possible
C) Is that car Azzuro california?

A) I'm still trying to find that out
B) Cant give an explanation but first thing that comes to mind is the F40 and unlike the California where two out of the four outlets are not real, it looks like all three here are going to be used.
C) Ferrari seem to like unveiling their new cars in this blue colour. Remember how many video and magazine reviews were done on the Scuderia in this blue and I've seen a few California reviews and pictures too in the same/similar colour.

It looks like Ferrari will be going ahead with the two big rear lights as per the 599 and moving away from sort of a tradition with their entry level V8's of using 4 rear lights ie: 308, 348, F355, 360 and F430.

It is interesting that Azzuro California has been so dormant but was resurected for the introduction of the California and now there are variants being used such as was done with the Scuderia.

Very interesting.

I'll settle for the girl's name and number!!! No need for her to speak English either!!!

Number no good w/o a name!

I dialed and spoke to a woman waiting for her husband to come.

Only problem is she's been waiting for 2 months.

Wrong #!
