My Sunday in Fort Lauderdale - Exotics Museum

Down in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, for a course and was thumbing through the guide in the hotel and found there was a place with an Exotic Car Museum in town. Hmm. I was going to go to watch the Jai Alai game and bet on the humans I thought would get hit by the ball the least but decided to run over to check out this Swap Shop place.

I'm sure most of you can identify all the cars in all these photos. The last one might be a challenge though so I'll give you that one. It's a Pontiac G5. My rental car.

Very nice pictures Pete, looks like it was fun...although watching people get hit would be fun too hmmm....that g5's body style looks quite similar to a car I have seen recently, but I can't put my finger on it....hmmm...

I figured you might find the ole' G5 appealing. I thought about upgrading but decided the G5 would suit my needs just fine. Funny how it is classed as an "intermediate" sized car. Damn. I'd hate to try one of their compacts. I'll be in FL for 4 more days. I'll try and get some more pics of the cars running around here. Some pretty good ones. There is a Triumph/Ducati dealer just up from the hotel, might walk over there tomorrow.

Looks like a neat place Pete, great cars. Like Gcalo said, are you sure it wasn't Vegas? Seems like a lot of neons were used on the displays.

Your rental car looks OK, you should see some of the rentals I've driven in Greece - 1.1 litre Hyundai's and Kia's

It was a unique place. Extremely large and spread out with a little bit of everything. The car part was a small portion of it. It also was like a huge mall that reminded me of Little India in Singapore with 100s of small booths and stands selling everything from T-shirts to high-end electronics and filled with people speaking all kinds of different languages. A video arcade, a food court with stalls where you can get any kind of food you want. A large farmer's market outside along with an amusment park for the kiddies complete with carnival rides. Also a 14 screen drive-in theatre. I don't know how many acres it covered, you could easily spend a whole day there. You can buy anything from a half-dozen tomatos to a Ferrari. Plus you can drink beer while you walk around browsing. (It is the South so redneck activities are tolerated). When I was taking pictures of the 275 and F1 car I had to have somebody hold my beer for me. Plus they had the largest American Flag I've ever seen.
