Well, having been in a few commercials with tons of pros about, I can say time is money and pros earn it...can't tell you how many times we reshot a sceen becuase one character or one plant or whatever wasn't exact. THEN, when we get a good shot/take, we do it again and again and again...
IF someone f*cks it up....hell to pay...never me, but I remember being made to do one simple walk out of an office to a desk where I was in the background [about five steps] and the director [even though not a speaking part] wanted me to mouth words 'differently'.....
thank god for electronic filming......as the cost of real film would have been way out.
BUT I do see your point...thing is, some of these actors become real unwound when a little something gets in the way...and, well DIVAs...but can earn their keep all the same.
