Broken glass...

Have you ever just gone outside to clear off the 6 inches of snow on the windshield, no sooner do you realize that it has two nice size cracks down the middle....gotta love small chips that get water in them and then sit through -10 F weather....Merry Christmas to me....Merry Christmas to me...Bah Humbug!

Your insurance company may have a zero deductible for glass. Call your agent.

My dad will be calling this week. It just kinda pissed me off. Now I have to bring it in and have them replace it, of course I have all the time in the world though On my Firebird I had to pay a $200 deductible for my rear window when someone broke it out. This is a brand new car (last year) so I'll find out tomorrow. My dad didn't seem to care much when I told him, so it must be covered.

No, that just means he doesn't plan on paying for it.

Well here is my wonderful windshield. I'm pretty sure you can tell where the crack is.

Man I feel ya on this one! I have a bad crack in my windshield but I am just going to wait until the winter is over to get it replaced. But the good thing is, it is really cheap for me. $100 installed

If you lived in Omaha, I could get you a windshield for next to nothing!

This year was not a good year for me with windshields. 3 windshields.

Windshield number 1: Had my diablo 6.0 on the top lift in my garage and had to raise it all the way to the top since my window tint guy was working on the countach that was below the diablo. Forgot to lower it and when I opened the garage door, the arm of the garage track shattered the windshield: COST $3,100.00.

Windshield number 2: My 2007 Murcielago LP 640 had a hairline crack that probably could have been fixed. Forgot about it and ended up needing a new windshield: COST $6,500.00.

Windshield number 3: Took my Gallardo to go to the dentist. Went over a huge pothole which ended up shattering my windshield. COST : $3,000.00.

I did not claim it to the insurance company because did not want to take a chance on them raising my premiums.

Hmmm, $12,600 in Lamborghini glass in 1 year. One more year like that and you could have had a 308.

On windshield #3, if you hit the pothole hard enough to shatter the windshield, surely that was not the only damage done. I've hit potholes that have torn off exhaust systems and bent steering components but I've never hit one hard enough to break the windshield. With my Mustang I even hit trees and guardrails and stuff and never broke a window. Last time I broke glass on a vehicle was when I was loading my four-wheeler into the back of the truck and drove it into the rear window. One of my finer moments. I tried hard to make it look like I meant to do that but no one believed it.

One of my favorite cars. I would be nervous taking it out of the garage.
