Where would you live part II

I liked Andrew's idea very much, so here we go again:

Based solely on these photos which city would you choose? Why?

Some of you may perhaps recognize one or more cities.

P.S.: I've lived for at least a few months in all of these cities.

Based soley on the pictures, I'd pick #2. It has lots of green areas and it has 2 major rivers. Rivers are the lifeblood of any city, providing water, food and commerce. I'm pretty sure I know which city this is. Can't say I'd want to live there but based solely on the picture it looks pretty good.

#4 is pretty good also because the rivers resemble a woman's fallopian tubes. I have no idea which city this is.

That is the weirdest reason ever to choose a city to want to live in

sorry, t1f, forgot to post the answers, here we go:

#1: Porto (or Oporto), in Portugal, where I lived and studied in the 2nd semester of 2007

#2: Pittsburgh, PA, USA, where I lived as an exchange student in 1999/2000

#3: Macaé, RJ, Brazil, where I've been for the past month and am at right now (but will leave in a week or so) and will come back here in a year, this time for a few years at least

#4: Brasília, DF, Brazil, the Brazilian capital, where I was born and lived during the first 22 years of my life (and where I'll live for the next year). Notice that it has the shape of an airplane, surrounded by a lake.

#5: Salvador, BA, Brazil, where I lived for the last few months (from March to October), it was the 1st Brazilian capital, many years ago

#6: Rio de Janeiro, RJ, Brazil, where I spent the beginning of this year right after I got my new job. It was the 2nd Brazilian capital (until 1960), and is well known around the world for its beauty, girls and violence.

Well, I did have #2 right. I thought it was Pittsburgh. As for #4, since you were born there it seems right that I thought the rivers resembled a woman's fallopian tubes. Screw Basosz! A great city to be born in!

t1f, come anytime, I'm sure you'll like it here very much, specially if you run from your winter and come visit our summer!

Pete, it makes some sense, but it's a lake, not rivers, like I said before. This view shows it better.

The yellow circle shows were my parents' house is.

The blue lines mark the airplane shape of the city.

Easy to see that it was a planned city, isn't it?

BTW: I knew you'd guess the second city was Pittsburgh, I chose the most traditional part of the city, with the stadium and the city center

There was no picture attached Stile. But I have seen a documentary about Brazilia before and I do know it was a planned out city. The city officially is only a little older than I am.

I just looked it up - Brazilia was inaugurated in 1960.

The town where I was born was constituted in 1717. I guess we weren't good neighbors because the Abenaki indians (urged on by the French) burned it down in 1722. 208 English troops were able to pacify the indians and the town was rebuilt being officially incorporated in 1738.

Pete, I was stupid enough to open Google Earth, find the city, take a print screen, edit it, save it, and then forget to attach it to my previous post. Worse of all, I deleted it and removed it from the recycle bin right after I posted the text without the picture! hehehehe

So I did it all over again, and this time I got it right!

The yellow circle shows my parents' house, the blue lines show the shape of the airplane that is very famous.

The city was planned by famous architect Oscar Niemeyer, don't know if anyone here enjoys architecture, but he's pretty famous (and now almost 100 years old!)
