Where would you live

Based solely on these photos which city would you choose? Why?

Based solely on the pics you posted I'd go for numer 7. Somewhere near that waterstream and the green pastures.

1 looks like a trailerpark
2 is just wrong
3 might be considered cos I like the apparent randomness
4 is also wrong. I just can't stand that grid-thinking when building a city
5 looks like Turin or Enschede (near where I now live, and used to live till I was 9) with all the red roofs. If it is Enschede I sure as heck don't want to live there. Very poor city. Turin would be cool though, with the Fiat factory close by
6 might also not be too wrong but only when near the green stuff in the bottom-middle part of the picture.

Nice question. Very interesting too see what everybody else chooses and based on what criteria

I hate to say this, but I agree with Basosz (crap, I think he really brain-washed me! hehehehehe)

number 7 looks better, has a lot of green areas, and looks like Spain a bit, which is a country that I like very much

the others seem like "building forests", imense cities with no green

Anyone else? Sadly I was bored and did screen shots of Google maps for each so I know each one. I think you'll be surprised after I reveal each city. Not too surprised 7 is winning.

My order of preference:

4
3
2
7

I know each so I can't say why.

Based solely on the pictures I would have to say the last one. #7. It appears to have the openness that I like but also the infrastructure that makes life convenient.

I also agree with Basosz in that #2 is just wrong.

I would have to jump on the bandwagon with #7....and would have to agree that #2 is.....umm....wrong.

I'll take 6

It has a racetrack (albeit an oval), a bigazz pool, and a driving range that looks like it could accomodate my hooks and slice's

I reckon 7, 3 or 6

1 looks tired, 2 & 4 look overly planned.

7 is probably a European cityscape, which is nice. Do I recognize 3, Andrew ? Is it the city you lived for a while ? Prabably. w/ smiles Jimmy

oh well, now knowing the cities, I'd still choose #7, I guess, so it was a good option from the start!

I tried to make it difficult and made sure the elevation was the same on each. I was very surprised at how San Francisco looked so unappealing when in fact is quite the opposite.

Indeed. I would LOVE to live in SF one day. But judging from the picture above I'm very put off by it. As someone already remarked, it looks way too planned. But SF I've heard that SF is a very charming city. Also: Starfleet Academy is gonna take its seat there one day

Knowing that number 7 is germany, I really really really don't want to live there.

The problem is two things:

- You only see a portion of the city from the photo
- The street view is significantly different that the satellite

Here is the Bay Area in a much wider shot:

I've only been to 3 of the cities on that list. I must say though that the time I went to San Francisco I quite enjoyed that city.

Singapore is quite high on my list of favorite cities though. Hard to beat that place.

That doesn't suprise me. Actually, now that I think about it, I think you would make a good host for the mythbusters show.
