Merger between GM and Chrysler??

I was listening to the radio and I heard that GM is trying to Merge with Chrysler. What do you think would happen if this were to take place?

They would continue to lose market share. There was a nice graph on today's Marketplace section of WSJ showing how the big three combined have gone from about 80% market share to less than 50%.

That's what happens when you make a crappy product.

I can vouch for their crappy products. My Cobalt is a great peppy little car with good gas mileage, but would hate to see it in several years...It is going to fall apart, I guarantee. I don't know why two companies that are doing terrible would merge together.

To be fair to GM & Chrysler, a cross between the Viper and Corvette could be very interesting, but I can't think of anything else in their ranges that would take my fancy.

Well put Archie, you're right. GM / Chrysler cars are absolutly rubbish (OK a few exeptions) but in general cheap, plastic, ugly, low tech, throw away products...

I do actually like my car. It is fully loaded...which I am paying quite a bit for...I would've rather had a Mini which would've been more but worth it...

Out of both companies I only like: the Viper, Corvette, Cobalt SS/TC (turbo-charged)....I think that might be it though.
