...I bought new shoes...

Well my mom said I needed new shoes because mine are 2 years old....haha She gave me $100 for new shoes Now as I have posted before I buy the $19.99 specials at random stores. Well this may be to Pete's dismay, my friend texted me a picture of Puma shoes...if you can see where I am going with this. I went to the mall and purchased them. $99.99. $105.99 with tax. They are black Puma..Ferrari shoes They truly are amazingly comfortable driving shoes. Maybe they'll make me like Michael Schumacher.....nah :drive:

except for the fact that they are ferrari shoes... I can't fault you for buying a decent pair of shoes. Do they support your feet in all the right places? Will they last another two years ? Cos that's the most important thing about shoes. They have to fit right.

They are fantastic. They fit great and comfort all the right places. They are amazing driving shoes too. I drove home from the mall in a ton of traffic, and they were very comfortable shifting. I have another old pair of Nike Air's that I use for running, so I will wear both and I'm sure they will last two years. I will probably go for a $20 pair after this, haven't had one in a while. My last pair of expensive shoes were 2 years ago $110 Nike Shocks. They were amazingly comfortable and lasted two years.

I just keep buying the same type of Panama Jacks everytime. They are the best shoes for me. Quite expensive, but they last me at least 3 to 4 years with a mid-life overhaul at the shoe repair dudes. They put on a new sole and they're good for at least two more years. I've recently bought my 4th pair where I went with dark brown instead of black which I chose for the previous 3 pairs

I'm shoe-boring

don't even ask me the prices of shoes in Brazil, it will make you cry

anyway, Chris, make sure you're not over-using your Nike Airs, they are made to last for one year only

that goes for pretty much all "heavy" running shoes (the light ones last for much less than a year, usually just for 50 km or so)

BTW: this thread reminded me of a great typical Brazilian song called "Andrι de Sapato Novo", or "Andre with new shoes", it is a really master piece of Choro

Chris, I tend to run a little bit myself, right now I'm not trainning but soon I'll get back to it. Last year I ran my first marathon, pretty hard experience! hehehe

Have you tried Mizuno shoes for running? Right now I have a Mizuno Wave Creation 8, it is SO good that I can't describe it!

Not sure if Mizunos are common in the US, I guess Nike and Reebok dominate the market, but anyway, I also have a Nike Shox, I had several Reebok DMXs, several Nike Airs (from basic ones to the top ones like the Air Max), and I can tell you that the Mizuno is far ahead than any of those others.

I've heard good thigs about Asics, specially the Nimbus 9, but I've never tried it. The Asics should be easier to find in the US than the Mizuno, I guess.

New Balance also had some decent shoes when I tried it about 8 years ago, but I don't have recent information about them...

Thank you, I'll have to look into those shoes after I kill the Nike Airs. They still have plenty of life left in them.

They look sweet!

I tried some Puma speedcats but they came up too high in the rear and were rubbing the back of my ankle. I then found Adidas Type-O driving shoes for $40 which are a little tight but I highly recommend for heel-toe goodness!
