24 Heures du Mans 2008

Don't know if this thread should be here or in the racing forum, but I just want to tell you that the 24 hours of Le Mans is almost over and it was a jolly good race to watch !! Perhaps a tad tiring (after all... it's 24 hours) with only a few hours of sleep but holy cow !! It's awesome fun to watch. The Audi diesels really did great battle with Peugeot and the dutch LMP2 team of Van Merksteijn racing is going to win their class so that's awesome too

Oh dear... the peugeot in number 2 position jsut broke down or something... it's really slow around the track and it's sailing all over the place. Perhaps the tyres are bad ?

Anyways... I absolutely LOVE the Le Mans race

By the way: in my opinion, the best looking car in the field is the white Dome Judd

Ferrari also won something... Mika Salo (ex-F1) is 19th general, but first in LMGT2 at 56 laps behind winner Tom Kristensen in the Audi.

The dutch team Van Merksteijn did indeed win LMP2 Very cool !!

I was fortunate enough to be able to watch it for 24 hours. Had my laptop play the live streaming video while I worked on my other computer. GREAT fun and just great to be able to see the full 24 hours. Each year I keep forgetting to look up when Le mans is being held, and every year I find out about 2 days before the race. It's supremely annoying. I want to visit next year !!

Basosz, where can I find the live streaming?

Next year I want to watch it (at least in the computer), maybe someday I'll watch it live!

A friend of mine just got back from a week at LeMans with the Caterham Owners Club, he said it was fantastic.

I quite enjoyed it too as he left his Caterham 7 Superlight with me for the week

I hope that you looked after it properly by taking it out for a spin and testing it to the limit

I watched at www.rtlgp.nl but I do not know if RTL (television station) will show Le Mans next year. It's highly probable though, as they have shown it for the past few years.

Yup I caned it, as per his kind invitation to indulge in some exuberant driving whilst it was in my possession. That is one fast bathtub! Although with me in it, I think the 'Superlight' lost some of its 'Superlightness'
