1992 Rover Metro GTI. The words Metro & GTI next to each other just seems a contradiction.
Al, you are too modest! You never said that you single handedly kept British Leyland alive during the 70's & 80's!

I know, I did wonder whether to leave 'em off the list as embarrassement factor is substantial, but hey, in for a penny etc:thumbup:
The Metro GTI was a hoot actually! Straight through exhaust & bright yellow, got banned for 3 weeks for doing 109mph on the M4 in the 2nd one

The 124 is one of the greats IMO Fun per is almost unbeatable.

No Fcar, as you rightly say, never had the money at the right time, but I've worked on the odd one or two

"Riley 1300 Countryman estate. You mean an Austin 1300 Vanden Plas?"

No, I really DO mean an ultra rare (& equally ultra s**t) Riley 1300 Countryman estate! One of 3 prototypes built (& was easy to see why it never got beyond prototype )

Mrs Alsa also reminded of the other prototype I owned (briefly) a 1966 Triumph 2000 fastback, so add that to the list, somewhere between the Quattroporte (which was, truly, one of the worst cars I have ever owned - & that's some achievement!!!!!!! ) & the BiTurbo, which, despite it's appalling reputation, was one of the best (it being black however, did have the look of a very (very) fast Huyndai Stellar Taxi ).
