Boat Purchase - anyone have one for sale?

Looking for a Cobalt or Chaparral (might consider a Sea Ray) in the 25-29 foot range. Looking for something around the 2000 model year to fit my budget.

Cabin is WAY better, but could go with a bow-rider if we decide to keep it on Lake Anna primarily.

Just wondered if anyone was selling since it is the end of the season.

Thanks,
MB

As the ex-owner of a few boats, I approve. Have the boat surveyed. There are a bunch of nooks and crannies where bugs can hide, but there is great satisfaction in having a boat that is YOURS.

If you buy a friend with a boat, make sure he doesn't get rid of it. Ask me how I know.

I have hole in my back yard, you can come shovel money in it and I'll show you pictures of all the boats I've been on. If you're near Norfolk, I'll get you a tour on one. Probably cheaper in the long run and less aggravation. (Kidding of course... Sort of)

I have two holes in my garage too. One Ferrari and one 1949 Cadillac. Both keep sucking money in like a vacuum cleaner although I pretty much have the Ferrari squared away now...I am pretty anal about having my cars in perfect condition...

We had two boats growing up so I get it. I am down in Norfolk a few times a year so maybe in the Spring we can hook up and you can run my family out on one of yours to see if they get sea sick...

What a coincidence!!! I landed on the PR when she was with us for RIMPAC 2012. She was one of the cleanest ships I've ever seen.

Dear David,

Well now that we have taken Matt's thread off topic, I can expand some on one of the tin can stories. If you will note on the mount 53 on DeHaven there is a strange contraption. It was the experimental version of the Rocket Assisted Torpedo (RAT) launcher, the predecessor of Weapon Alpha and ASROC. The deck gang hated it when the Dahlgren guys fired it because it would burn off all the deck, bulkhead and gun mount paint. One launch blew off a fire hydrant strainer at the deck level so not only did they have a burnt deck but the salt water fountain created instant rust. The RAT was removed at the next FRAM when we became helo capable.

oops, now we really are into sea stories.

Best regards,

ADM,
Sea stories work for me. If you guys had to hijack my thread at least we took it the right way!
Here was my first one...

Dear Matt,

Just so you are not totally unhappy with the direction this thread took you might want to look at:

1999 Sea Ray 270 Sundancer

2012 Cobalt 262 WSS

1998 Sea Ray 250 Sundancer

Chaparral 1994 2550 SST

Best regards,

Robert
