Beef Jerky!

Beef Jerky is Man Food. It's the greatest snack on earth, hands down. When I go to work for 3 weeks I always pack a few bags of Beef Jerky. Great for flavor and a great stomach-stuffer when you are travelling (they don't serve meals on domestic flights anymore). I love it.

Pemmican brand Premium Cut Teriyaki flavor is my favorite. Trouble is, it's expensive. You go to the convenience store and its $5.99 for a 4 ounce bag. That's almost $24 a pound! I usually get it at the supermarket but even there its $4.99 and then you throw in fuel to go get it and the 5% Maine sales tax and it adds up.

I found a connection online. It is www.bulkbeefjerky.com. Great prices, free shipping, no sales tax. I just ordered a dozen bags for $55. That works out to $4.58 a bag and it's delivered to the house!

So if you love Beef Jerky as all real men should, check 'em out.

That's the perfect gift (seriously), considering Slim Jims are the best snack ever. Lucky man!

Yeah, I was quite pleased having a ready supply of Slim Jims at hand. If you are a snacker, like I am, you probably like nuts also. I like to snack on sunflower & pumpkin seeds and pistachio & macadamia nuts.

I think Planters has the best tasting sunflower seed and by far the most delicious pistachio nuts are the Turkish pistachios from Zenobia. A 5 pound bag is $37. Sounds like a lot of money, but when you've got 4 guys playing Need for Speed on the XBox all night long and you've still got half a bag left in the morning it's pretty cheap. http://www.nutsonthenet.com/

Because I like beef jerky, my mother tried to make it. She was very successful. My father and siblings would take it while it was still in the process. Something like eating chocolate chip cookie dough.

Quality jerky is hard to get. Most jerky is overly salted and spiced. I sometimes thing it is because of the quality of the meat, but I still buy it.
