Why I like small towns.

I call the pizza place, I order a large pepperoni and Greek olive pizza to go. They are like, "Is this for Pete?", I'm like, "Yes."
"Thought so, I recognized your voice. Give us 20 minutes, Pete." I drive downtown to one of the last true "Main Streets" left in America. I park my truck and walk to the bank and Nancy greets me and gets me some cash. I walk to my oil dealer and Wayne and Sherida ask me how things are going and thank me for coming in to pay my bill instead of just dropping the check in the mail. I walk to the post office to pick up some stamps and Linda helps me out and asks if I've been getting my mail OK. I walk to the parts store and Marty asks me, "What'd ya' break this time, Pete?". Then I walk over to the video store and pick up a movie and Steve says, "You know Pete, you still owe me a late charge for the last one." I say, "Can I get you next time?" "Sure, no Problem." I go see Dave at the computer store to see what new stuff he's got and shoot the breeze with him and Neil for awhile. Then I go see Jim at the corner store to pick up a 6-pack and he says, "So how long you home for this time Pete?" Finally I go to the pizza place and when I walk in the door Nate hands me my pizza and says, "Here you go Pete, you're all set."

I get back in my truck to head home and I think, "Yes I am. I am all set."

Got to love it. It's like that with us alot. We recently went to a nice restaurant on a lake for dinner. We had the same waitress as the time before, and she remembered our whole meal, our names, and the day we came. Alot of restaurants we visit know us well.

I hope you tipped her well!!! I always appreciate a waitress who remembers us and what we like.

We usually do tip well, so I think this time would have been the same or better! It was just so suprising -- she remembered every single thing we had ordered, and double checked with us first.

Small towns are the best... hope I can someday move back to one.
