FORMULA 1 (spoilers)

Hello gentlemen, hope all is well . Last year I thought it was cool to have a season were two teamates closely battled one another. Towards the end of the season, I kind of got tired of it. I wanted Rosberg to win,,but in the end,,he is no where near the driver Hamilton is,,,,Today, I was barely excited about the start of the 2015 season. Australia seemed to be last season continued, bar the fact that Ferrari did very well with Vettel placing third. Im not a big Vettel fan,,but I would like to see Ferrari do some damage to the Mercedes team this year. Seeing that Mclaren is fucked , in the worst way,,and with that ,,so is Alonso s chance for a third world title,,,I will again be rooting for Ferrari , the entire year. I really dont want to see a repeat of last year,,,Brett Lucca

I attended the race yesterday.

Mercedes is in a league of their own. Red Bull today lodged an appeal to alter the rules to strip Mercedes of its advantage.

It seemed yesterday that nobody was really racing. Maybe just getting used to their cars at the start of the season.

Kimi was impressive until......

1st pit change took 8.4 seconds due to right rear wheel operator. He then drove like a man possessed and made up 5 places until.....

Second pit stop the same operator failed to put the wheel on properly, Kimi drove off but then had to retire after a corner or two.

That unfortunate mechanic is probably now on his way to a village in Sicily!!

Peter, 1st & 2nd seem to be a fait accompli, but the battle for 3rd and below will be interesting. Ought to be some entertaining drama between Red Bull & Renault, too . And if McLaren can get their Honda going......

High mileage, low compression, and missing on a few cylinders.....just like my cars.

John, wasn't just booooooring, the noise is seriously missing. I was going to go to the Spanish GP in May, but Ive backed out to see how things progress. If I go I might have to take the old cars soundtracks with me.....god help us if this Sunday is an indicator of the season to come!

I know Im not alone in wanting wheel to wheel racing & screaming banshee engines!

Id also like racing personalities & not just corporate dummies!

Yesterday's history, tomorrow's a mystery, today's a gift.....enjoy every minute!

The F1 sound reminds me of an electric hand dryer. There is just no drama with them. No need to wear ear plugs unless you do so when you dry your hands in public toilets. The titanium plates add a little spark action but are cosmetic. The F1s were completely shown up by all the other racing and demonstration groups.

I believe that in the future perceptions will gradually change and F1s will be valued on achieving speed silently. Like arrows flying through the air. All a bit sad if you ask me.

For anyone who did not see the race, Vettel just won.

The omens have got to be good: German former world champion joins Ferrari and brings them their first win in ages - where have I heard that before?

Best wishes, John

I don't deny that it was great seeing a red car in the lead for most of the race, and winning it at the end, but I really think it was a better tire strategy that won the race today.

Remains to be seen if the Vettel/Kimi/SF15-T combo will be enough to consistently be on the podium. I surely hope so, as we definitely don't want another season like 2014!

Kimi was on fire today! Amazing comeback. That was the real story of the day. Both Fcars are competitive! Bravo to the team and both drivers.

In Melbourne, Kimi was doing well until an 8.4 second wheel change stuffed him. He reentered 12th, drove like a man possessed clocking up tens of fastest laps. Reentered pits 5th, then disaster from same wheel finished his race. When he has an unflawed race, he will be up there.

I still think that Merc will be hard to beat though but Ferrari is firming as the challenger.
