a million dollar 599 SA Aperta?

Oh please! I've cut and pasted this from David Gooding's listing of cars for his Amelia Island auction in nine days:

2011 Ferrari 599 SA Aperta, Convertible variant of the 599 GTO, one of 80 produced (Est. $900,000 $1,100,000)

and I guess there will be at least two buyers willing to bid up to that level.

Bubble anyone?

Seth- SA Apertas have regularly been selling for around $1M, so nothing unusual about that estimate. When Barchettas and Superamericas are selling for around $500K, one of the 80-120 SA Apertas going for twice that much seems reasonable.

Bubble? Who knows? Lots of money out there still.

I guess David - and you - know the current market lots better than I do, Taz

Terry - I agree with you from this side of the pond too. The bubble will burst, but looks like an awfully long way off yet!

Aperta with the GTO engine is the modern top off Ferrari to own.

I tried and found one - guy was willing to sell for 650k but had to buy his 60k Patek for 300k.

When production numbers like the Aperta are so limited it seems Ferrari does these runs for their Friends and Family.

FYI - there are well over 100 and heard numbers of 125.

Peter - I don't know.

Ferrari and others are at an end of an era. Between NA and manuals these cars only have one way to go. Agree some are out of sight but there are so many buyers fighting for these cars. It just seems that the old 200k is the new 500k. Turbo's are never going to have the sounds of NA.

There is actually a delivery mileage one in the Uk for sale for 800,000.00 sterling, so what's that? $1.3M?
