Although the design is to separate in order to maintain the cockpit intact, this is not a lot of speed to provoke the snap.

This apart, I have aesthetic reasons and driving feedback reasons, for not driving a Lamborghini. I could consider buying one as a winter car to pound around, with heavily raised suspension, treating it completely respectlessly. I would keep it mechanically sound, but it would be roller painted, full of cheap stickers, the silly rear wing installed backwards, heavy duty offroad tyres and with four snow chains in the boot. I.e, a manual Murcielago-turned-Baja-buggy, it could be fun. But now that Ariel is making a buggy version of the Atom, there's no need to bother with a Lambo.

Salve,
Capo

I wouldn't buy a Lambo period. They do absolutely zero for me aesthetically & I need to love a cars looks before I'll buy.....anyhow they're driven by twats, sorry Mark, but they are, in fact you prove my point, lol.....

If I want a 4 wheel drive rocket to propel myself across any surface I'll take my FF or Range Rover 5.0 every time!

Yesterday's history, tomorrow's a mystery, today's a gift.....enjoy every minute!

To me, it looks like the Mazda's nose hit him amidships which started a yawing moment. Can't tell for sure, but I bet he hit the tree going at least partially sideways. Probably wouldn't take much sheer force to snap where it did. The fact that the tub stayed intact and the driver wasn't hurt says success to me.

But I'm with you Peter, I think the car is ugly.

Of all the narcissists I know, I love me the most.

The Aventador has a tub? It's known as an RTM something or other.

Seen accidents where a car with a real CF tub has taken a far worse hit and the doors still open perfectly - this thing is the Humpty Dumpty of Exotics.

Agree with everyone - Lambo's are a hot mess.

Capo's beater one off SUV is the right idea.

Agree as designed but at that speed / impact - regardless I think it's a poorly designed ratio and has sub par standards.

Too heavy of an engine rear mounted - car can't handle it and what's worse imagine that on a crowded highway that engine compartment would act like a wrecking ball.

As a CGT owner knowingly on thin ice ... believe Ferrari keeping the 8's in the back and the 12's in the front makes good sense and the lighter that engine gets the better off we all are.

So here is one good reason why I would buy a Lamborghini (if I had the funds!):

Concours of Elegance at Hampton Court 9th. September 2014 - Bluebottle

And Capo, I think the Lambo you want is an LM002.

Best wishes, John

LOL - lil over exaggerated but it's a funny video

John - agree that Miura was one of the best in it's day and has aged well.

A local collector just added one to his collection with rally lights stunning.

350/400GT maybe, or an Islero? But after that, I am entirely in agreement. The other front-engined cars all looked a bit of a mess; and from the Countach onwards, they adopted the "cab-forward" look for their mid-engined cars and that does nothing for me in the aesthetics department.

Best wishes, John

I now know the reason for those stupid doors!

To fit more chicks in.

Ed's slipping, could have gone another row.

How big of a tip did you leave for this?

Getting them in the picture and getting them are 2 different things

There is an aviation saying that sums it up: "Any landing you walk away from is a good landing". It looks like the VW engineering dept. did a better job than the driver.
