Corvette Zo6

Just saw an issue of motor trend on the table at a Dr's office and it had a special on the '06 Zo6. It looks like quite a car.

Its power to weight ratio is better than the 430s, higher specs (bhp, torque), top speed just under 200, quarter mile in the 11s, and a price $130k less than a ferrari.

Someone is going to have to clarify its brake design. I read only a little of the article but it mentioned having multiple pads per rotor?! Cool idea.

Anyway, curious to see what kind of impression this 'low cost' supercar is going to have on the rest of the market.

Heck, in this day and age, almost any car company can make a screamer. The new Corvette is again the best bang for the buck. It beats my Maranello, Saleen, Viper, & Aston Martin in the long distance road races. It is a very fine car. Almost as good as a 10-year-old 550 Maranello.

OMG! That is the closest I have ever heard Bart come to acknowledging any other car as cool.

I canīt believe that Bart said that!!

But this time I disagree: I wouldnīt even consider driving a Corvette if I had to choose between a Z06 and a 10-year-old 550

Too bad that here in Brazil the Corvette is very, very, very expensive... Not as much a "low cost" supercar as in the USA...

There is no question the 550 is a nicer car in all respects than a ZO-6 Vette, but there is a reason that I still own my Vette and have gotten rid of a lot of other cars. The Corvette is a car that does a lot of things very well and if I break it I can fix it the next day very cheaply.

I kind of agree with this statement. IMO, the C6 Z is nicer than the 550 and will rattle the 550 as well. I, too, own a nicely modified C5 with more mods to come. I agree that is does lots of things very, very well. In fact, look at the C5-R during the Le Mans... It's taken the checkered flag quite a few times using 90's technology against much newer and higher priced cars. That, to me, speaks volumes about the Vette. Lots of people underestimate the Vette without getting to know its capabilites first hand. I also agree that the Vette is quite easy and really fun to work on in the garage.
