Ed- Sad, does not look like there would be any survivors in that one. Looked like the front end lifted off the ground. He was having a hard time keeping her in the correct lane early in the video.

I'm glad to hear that. Now they can go and buy a Ferrari instead.

Must have been a wild ride. Glad they survived. If that had been a Speciale or standard 458, no problem.

Amazing that there were survivors. I reckon that clip is crap. Looks staged to me . Too much vertical movement before the stack. Would have dropped the camera straight away. I'm sure whoa is not the last cry before death. The chances of walking away from that is zero. Who would post it anyway? if I am wrong, that camera is bulletproof and I want one.

Hahaha David....nice one.

If I'm reading some of the posts right the Lambo-H won't handle as well as an equiv Fcar at these speeds and won't have the structural integrity if it all goes pear shaped? Is this assumption or proven/tested? Seeing that this sort of speed is one of its main party tricks that would seriously reduce its desirability wouldn't it? I had the 575M at 196mph before chickening out some years ago, but it didn't seem any less stable than at 96mph.

Cheers
Michael

I've had my TR and 360 up to 160mph and they handled BETTER the faster I drove. I slowed down because (1) I ran out of road and (2) I didn't want to go to jail, even though there was hardly any traffic on the roads at the time. I did it once, and never again (except at the track).

I used to drive my '09 BMW 330dA with 160mph pretty often at a time, on far worse roads than in Hungary and never had serious stability issues...but a softer suspension is always a plus for bumpy roads though... Yet, what happened was strange...is there a chance that the shocks just stopped working correctly?

The 458 Normale front does start to go light around 170mph
when I watched the video it seems to go light a few times before it finally going too light.
Will be interesting to see the speciale A, will keep you posted.
