Going Jeeping tomorrow!

Been a long road but she is finally all set, loaded up and ready to head for the mountains in western Maine. I've included a few pics, ignore the date and time. I bought a new camera and haven't set the date and time on it yet.

You guys saw this Jeep built from scratch. Tomorrow we'll see some of what it will do.

It is actually just more convenient to tow it when the trails you are going on are over an hour away. You've got a nice warm comfortable ride on the way to the trails and a dry and reliable ride on the way home. It is good piece of mind also if you do break something (never know, be prepared). Also, the truck with it's big diesel engine actually gets better fuel mileage towing the Jeep than the Jeep gets driving by itself (Low gears and big mud tires).

But anyway, the day went great! We didn't get into much mud but did climb a lot of rocks and rode on some neat wooded trails.

You remember how I was telling everyone how I painted it with an industrial polyurethane coating rather than automotive paint? Well while we were driving through the woods today there were bushes and twigs scraping down both sides (you can see them in the photos). At the end of the day, there was not one scratch on the paint. Cool huh?
