slippery when dry..

The paving company thats resurfacing Palos Verdes Drive east,, left the entire road going up from the bottom of the hill, full of small balls of asphalt gravel and sand. As I was riding up the road, i passed one guy that had crashed,,and then , as I was going around a left hander, being very careful, all of a sudden, at about 45 MPH., both my tires slid right out from under me, I had to put my leg and foot down in a split second,,thankfully saving me and the bike from going down. I was riding my Zl 900...not the bike I want to wad up...PS..Its been so hot outside..and humid,,I opted to ride in shorts,. T shirt and boots...not the smartest move,,I just had to get a ride in this afternoon...I cant take the heat anymore !!! lol. I cant wait for winter...Brett Lucca

That sucks Lucca. I am glad you were smart about it and didn't get hurt. My bike riding days ended right after college. Too many idiots on the roads on our coast.

Wow sounds like you had a close call. The most important piece of safety equipment a motorcyclist uses is their brain, and it would seem yours served you well. My brother in law suffered a spinal cord injury when he was a teenager driving a motorcycle. Not his fault, an old guy drove through a red light and hit him broadside. He's been confined to a wheel chair ever since.

Enjoy the journey so much you don't care how long it takes to get there.
