Bryan's view - NFC

The sunset tonight from Bryan's home high over Santa Fe shows the smoke plume from the Diego forest fire on the far northwest side of the Jemez mountains against a routine Santa Fe sunset.

Best regards,

Willing to give it a go, Taz. Gijón, Northern Spain, on 7th of July 2014.

With all the sunsets I've seen in Africa and around the world, this one had them all beat.

Onno- We can match that, but I did not take any photos. Sitting in the restaurant on top of Sandia Peak at 10,200' facing west. Can see a long, long way, and all of it red, orange, pink or purple, depending on how late it is.

Cool! I've enjoyed the sunsets of the SW US tremendously, would love to have dinner there sometimes. It sounds wonderful.

I love the mountain views and sunset picture Admiral.
Thanks for sharing.

Here's what you are missing back "home" on the coast.
Six miles up the river from the USNA.

There's a saying, I think it is "Never fight a land war in Asia". The corollary to that is "Never get into a sunset pic competition w/ a New Mexican."

First one is from last night. Second is another pic of the Diego Fire plume from the night before. And a couple recent others - last one looks at Terry's Sandia Peak, about 50 miles away; I keep my tripod by the door. No photoshopping.

In case this has never been said out loud on F-Life; if any of you EVER find yourselves in northern New Mexico, you have a place to stay in a well-appointed guest house w/ views that no 5-star hotel in Santa Fe can match. We are an 8-minute drive from the Plaza. You might need an AWD to get up my driveway, but that is another story.

there has to be a way to make your stainless steel cement/beverage mixer portable; most of them have wheels . . . .

Dear Al,

Back in the day on the bay if I saw the looks of that squall line I would be quickly reefing.

Best regards,

Tsvetan,

Here is a sunrise photo from my home in Santa Fe at about 7,000 feet elevation. Bryan's house is about 600 feet higher on the mountain ridge to the left of this shot. Those are foothills of the Sangre de Cristo mountain range. Folklore says the name came from the colors of the sunrises.

Best regards,

Yikes!
