Ultimate Rally

The race is not until the summer of 2006. The entry fee is $30,000. It goes from Brussels to Hong Kong with a prize of $2,000,000 to the winner. Is anyone here going to be in the race?

On www.ultimaterally.com are still 7 potential routes. And one of them will be the definitif route. But they do not propose a route which starts in Brussels (Belgium) and goes to Hong Kong.

On the other hand, I've heard that the Gumball rally in May 2005 will start in Brussels. Bart, is it possible you mixed these 2 rally's?

The information I have is from "Pilota" issue 1, 2005. This is all I know.

DJ Dirk, I think it would be better if you were also at the finish

Sounds like fun, I'd love a road trip through Asia's mainland. I wonder how safe it will be. Just thinking about the two locations and drawing a strait line from Brussels to Hong Kong seem like you might be traveling through some dangerous areas. Not to mention some of the mountian ranges in your way.

I kind of fancy the idea of travelling that distance with a Fiat 500 or a BMW Isetta. Maybe even a Citroen 2CV... just like in the Dakar rally this year. Too bad it had to give up. But still a very valiant effort.

Bob... you with me ??
