the stock thread

I'm new to the forum, but I figured most of you guys invest. I opened up a scottrade account in september and have been using morningstar for most of my research.

I was holding siri, bought it in october and sold a 8. Another one of my better performers was cogt, I bought at 23 and sold around 34, now the price is hovering around the upper 20's.

Right now I just picked up some csco, the price is so low. I also picked up some apple a couple days ago and dumper it today.

anyway what are you guys invested in currently.

and heres a pic of my old ride e46bmw, it is no ferrari, but I loved it. right now I'm driving an a4.(rest in peace)

Wow... I understand a lot of gibberish but this was way beyond my league.

Would you mind explaining what you just typed ??

And for the record: I don't have any stock. Neither in the barn (which I don't have) nor with some bank... thingy (technical term)

The traditional jungle recipe for Python Consumee calls for stock from boiled buffalo brains. Until recently I have made do with those ghastly dried stock cubes added to water, but now that the local store has those nifty cartons of liquid Beef Stock I use those. Yumm! 8)

at my young age i am invested in a few companies only.

BHP Billiton ~ net about 500 shares

Lynas Corporation ~ 2000 shares

AJ Lucas ~ 500 shares

My portfolio is an investment which is for "later life"

I don't have any yet because I just turned 18, but do intend to make some stocks/investments within a reasonable time.

Start early (unlike me) and put it away as often as you can. Always invest for the long term. Buy a house sooner rather than later.

I use Vanguard (www.vanguard.com)

Vanguard is certainly the way to go in my book.

Be careful about buying stock in just 3 compaines, your better off going to Las Vegas and playing Black/Jack.

For a 17 year old, my 'load' is going quite well

My parents bought 100 BHP shares when i was born (1987) and slowly added to that via the dividend re-investment program. When BHP merged with Billiton, i had double the amount of shares bringing, which was still worth the same. Now, a few years later, the shares are worth double again.

Very happy me

As for AJ Lucas, they will prosper (hopefully with Lynas too!)

I put a little money away all the time for a "rainy day" situation.

Speaking of stocks, is Ferrari publicly traded?

Yes and No. Ferrari isn't but Fiat who owns Ferrari is. Ferrari is doing well but Fiat isn't.

If you're looking to buy I'd say the next "boom town" like oil in the 80s and Tech stocks in the 90s will be in East Asia. China, India and possibly Australia. I'm currently looking into some Australian companies.

We'll see how it goes. There isn't too much to choose from. Even Warren Buffet says so...

Some things to listen to:
