I seem to recall at the time of it's launch that the X1-9 was tagged the "baby Ferrari", and there may have even been talk that Fiat wanted Ferrari to sell it? They no doubt rejected this idea instantly, given that the X1-9 finds it hard to push itself out of a wet paper bag!

Absolutely stunning chassis though (so I've read). Just needs another 4 cylinders (or 8 for Bart :green: ).

Looks like a Toyota to me... one of those older MRsomethings or whatnot. Maybe someone else knows which one I mean

You're thinking of the first series Toyota MR2, released in 1984 & rumoured to have been a reworking of the abandoned Lotus X100 (?)project.
