vacation in london

I want to visit london for a few days. I will travel alone since I don't have any friends, I can do what I want. Are there any things I have to visit? Other suggestions than London? Or I want to visit some cool dealers, or I want to see some nature, forest/fjords/sea. Offcourse this is a low-budget vacation. Please advise

Sorry Bob - got tied up doing something, so will have to have a think about a list tomorrow. London has loads of stuff to do!!

Let me know when you're likely to be coming - I'm about most of the time - although I'm off to Florida next month for a couple of weeks.

well, I want to go end of this month. I want to see a bit of london, but also those cliffs near the coast, ruins, nature, lakes etc. I have no idea what I can do in 10 days, because I have no idea about the distances yet. I only got the idea sort of the day before yesterday.

Bob,

Let me know the dates and if I'm in London, and the weather permits, I'll take you for a run around in the 355 and see the sights.

I'm away at a wedding last week in August (28/29) and another one first weekend in Sept.

Not bad Bob! You are taking a low-cost holiday in the UK and you may already have 2 days lined up with guided Ferrari tours. One with Bazil in a 348 and one with 355GTS in a 355! That sure beats hitchhiking!

What a great group of guys we have here on this forum. If any of you are ever planning on coming to New England and want to spend a few days in Maine, look me up and if I'm not at work I will hook you up with a place to stay and a little guided Ferrari tour of my own. (Or a Jeep tour, depending on the weather).

thanks so far guys. Still planning, I wanted to go next week, but the planes skyrocketed in price on such short term, and if I go later I may be wrapped up in school again. Still planning...

Does anybody know a good bed&breakfast something in London? Not in the centre, but somewhere out of the city with a good connection to the centre? On the internet I can only find places which pay to be advertised. And those are not the cheapest

Bob,

Many nice thinks to do in London, but I do not think it is easy to find a cheap B&B. London just is expensive.

For car dealers I would suggest Knightbridge just behind Harrods where in the Mews you can find several interesting classic car dealers!

No Ferrari related things I liked when I was there (a long time ago):

Cabinet War Rooms, London Dungeon museum and Wimbledon Tennis Court (with Museum) if you like the sport. If you are into soccer I would definately try to get a ticket for one of those matches for the Premiership just to feel the atmosphere. Also try to get the tourists metro tickets which you can use on every line almost everywhere.

I don't have anything planned yet. I will make a list of things I want to see, and will see day by day, so I am very free in my plans. By the time I leave I will PM you my number, so we can keep contact.

I will leave this saturday. I'm still looking for cheap places to sleep, but they are rare on the internet. I think I'm going to book a room for saturday and sunday, and then look on monday where to sleep cheaper. I will take my laptop and my camera, so I don't like the thought of sleeping in a hostile with 7 other people who all know that I have those things with me...

For bazil and 355GTS and maybe others, my number is +316 18229120, feel free to call me if you want me to photograph you Ferrari or give me a ride, or both Also if you do not have a Ferrari, it's always nice to meet Ferrari-minded people. Is Ferrari UK an option from London, any other dealers? Because I HAVE to get some more RHD s/n :P

Greets

Bob

BTW, please let me know or you 2 saw my phonenumber, otherwise I will send an extra PM

Next time you're here, we'll definitely catch up.
