Autoweek?

Does anyone subscribe to this magazine? Thoughts or recommendations?

I received a teaser subscription offer to it today and thought I'd ask around to see if anyone subscribes and how they like it.

I subscribed to it years ago when it was in newspaper format, but I haven't seen an issue in quite a long time, and don't know if it's worthwhile to subscribe again or not.

John- I subscribe and have since it was Competition Press. Keeps me up to date and they also have a daily e-mail with up to date racing info and reviews of cars, auctions, etc.

Thanks guys,

Josh I was wavering on renewing my R&T subscription earlier in the year, but they've had a couple of issues with really good content recently so I think it'll be a keeper for another year.

I get Forza also, and it seems to be getting better as well.

Then there's Race Engine Technology, which is the equivalent of high end porn for motorheads.

Taz, does Autoweek still cover nearly all forms of racing? I remember back in the 70's or 80's it seemed they were trying to cover anything that rolled on 2 or 4 wheels and the content became very diluted (IMO).

John, I had a subscription but let it lapse. To me, it seemed the auto equivalent of US Today - a mile wide and an inch deep.

Of all the narcissists I know, I love me the most.

If you get R/T, then some coverage is duplicated. I like it since get good reviews and input on German cars I think there is more of a European flavor to the read.

It's now actually Auto-every other-Week. The magazine certainly isn't what it used to be years ago and now tries to appeal to a much wider audience. But it's still worthwhile, IMHO as it's not very expensive. I probably read only 50% of what they cover now.

John- Dave is about correct. The racing coverage is widespread, but thin, with F1 getting the most attention. There was even a story on the SCCA Nationals recently, but not with the depth that Sports Car Graphic did in the good old days.

Lots of what are just mildly reworked press releases, which also are in C&D, R&T (now nearly colocated and old R&T crew gone, even Peter Egan is backing off), MT, and Automobile. Still take them because I get the issues for about $.40 each. and can usually find one or two things of interest.
