European Friends

Is it true your government is trying to put a speed limiter on all cars, set at 70 mph (120 kph)?

12 cylinders or walk

The Gov't in England are considering 3 options in an attempt to curb the limit at 70mph, it was on the news....can't see it taking off, let alone flying!

It is actually a hot issue under discussion within the EU politicians and UK minister was ask to review the policy. The options are either by GPS or camera reading the limit signs and then:
Option 1) the car will signal a warning to the driver when he is over the limit so driver can slow down;
OR
Option 2) the car will automatically "brake" to bring it back to the limit

Another 'big brother' policy from Brussels designed by politicians that get too much pay and too little to do...

Thanks for the clarity Gus....I had heard it from my father earlier today, couldn't believe these idiots are wasting their times with this kind of crap when there are far more pressing things they could be considering, talk about a moment of fame for stupidity!
