I can understand the sadness to leave a place that you like.

If I had them around I would find it very hard to leave.

Yes it is sad and will be hard to leave, but I need to focus on the positive of going back. This really isn't the thing I will miss most.

I will most miss the peacefulness, patients and respect that is in Japan.

The things I'm looking forward to most when I return home is Mexican food and the freedom (more free than Japan).

Yeah, it must be tough. Well, as you said, you can travel back. I guess you just can't dwell on the past and you have to look foward to what's ahead of you after your move.

So how is your mastery of the Japanese language by now? Can you read and write it also?

I would imagine that SF would have a fair amount of people from Japan so you will probably still be able to use your language skills there.
