They are expensive...

I think I paid 250-310 or something for my Gucci glasses, and to think that Ferrari charge almost as much. Anything special they put into the glasses or just charging because of the name?

Because of the name.
Everything is expensive with a Ferrari logo on it

I have several Rayban glasses, all around 150-180 euro's, quality is very simular to the the Ferrari glasses and they are 230 just because there is a Horse on the glasscorner

I would not pay that much for some orange plastic! I wear prescriptions (can't get my head around contacts...) so usually buy Oakley, which I like. Although wish they would do Fire Iridium Polarised lenses in prescription

Call me old fashioned, but here is what I wear. American Optical Original Pilot in 52 mm. Work great under a helmet, too. 22 years of wearing them in the USAF make the habit hard to break. Work fine at 9 'g's. Inexpensive at base clothing sales. Much more for civilians.

Terry, they look great.

Mine are these, almost similar eye base as yours.. Aviator's are generally the best looking imo... worst is this http://www.mzeus.com/images2/kanye-w...l-glasses.jpeg

Oakley are plastic.sorry.That's why I wont own them or let my son.High priced junk. The best thing for your eyes is optically ground glass.Ray Ban,Vaurnet are just a couple.Check with the mfg.If they use O.G.G.Anything over $100 that's not O.G.G you're buying name not quality.

Do you mean the frame or the lenses? I have metal frames and they are very robust. The lens I am not sure of the exact composition, but they are comfortable on the eyes and I can wear them for long periods without fatigue. tbh finding decent authentic prescription sunglasses like RayBan (that are not just sunglasses frames with normal lenses tinted) is a major pita. It might be different in the US.

I don't know why but I have a strong dislike for Ray Ban.

I liked Police as well.

Guess each to their own

I'm with you Taz, been wearing those same glasses for 28 years now.
Feel naked driving (or flying) without them.

BTW - not only do I have the original pair I was issued in flight school, I have my Dad's from Korea also!

Of all the narcissists I know, I love me the most.
