Which car should I sell?

Hi guys

Well, got my Maserati Gransport 3 months ago, and love her, but wife is now talking, and we may be getting a 911 GT3 RS in 6-8 months (it's her dream car...)

Anyways, why 6-8 months? Our 4 month old daughter will be one, and should be out of her mommy phase, right now my wife needs to take her everywhere and cannot leave her home because she cries her eyes out. We figured at 1 yrs old, she'll grow o it of it, and my wife can enjoy the GT3 RS alone

But wife says I need to trade something in. It's either the Porsche Cayman or Maserati Gransport... (only one of those two, others are not even in equation).

Why keep Maserati: sexier, more exotic, and sounds amazing

Why keep Cayman: it's paid off, cheaper insurance, cheaper and easier maintainence costs, better daily driver IMO.

You may ask why I'm doing this for wife....well, she is my wife, and a happy wife makes a happy life

Also, she let me get my dream car, a Ferrari, and has already agreed on a Scud in 1-2 years

So what would you trade in, the Maserati or Porsche? (poll included)

THIS IS WIFE'S DREAM CAR: 911 GT3 RS

Maserati GranTurismo MC - Giallo yellow
Porsche 911 GT3 RS - black with orange accents - wife's car
F355 Berlinetta - Giallo Modena, 6-speed manual, carbon sport seats -recently traded in
Porsche Cayenne Turbo S

With a wife agreeable to a GT3, I would move to sell the Cayman so fast my butt would make a sonic boom.

Of all the narcissists I know, I love me the most.

I voted to sell the Cayman also. If you sell the Gransport, you can't be the "Gransport Guy" anymore

'99 550, Rosso Corsa / Nero, S/N:114654, Assy: 31836, Engine: 52084

High mileage, low compression, and missing on a few cylinders.....just like my cars.

John,

You got a good point there. Maybe I can call myself "Gransport-less Guy".

But what if wife says

"you don't need a Ferrari AND a Maserati. We're selling the Maserati and keeping Cayman". Basically end of story

Not much I can do huh?

"Need" has no place in your decision matrix.

Simple: Cayman. It's NOT a 911 but a hair dressers car (no offence)
Just out of curiosity, why the GT 3 RS? Because of the looks? It was basically developed as a track day car, not as a daily driver. She'll be a lot happier driving a Carrera 4S in terms of comfort, handling and so on IMHO...

1. Congrats to a wife who likes to drive a GT3 RS
2. Sell the Cayman (in Germany we call them Gayman) cause you can drive the GT3 too)

Life´s too short to drive boring cars

Contrary to the Cayman detractors, to drive it is to get it, a fantastic driving Porsche. Properly quick, sublime handling, glorious soundtrack. That said I would sell both and spend more time driving the glorious 355 and GT3RS as a result.

Sell the Cayman.
Wondering how she came to want a track car as a daily driver....Yeah, I'm sure you didn't have anything to do with planting that seed in her head.

Yup, Doc, David's correct again, on all three counts. BTW, last fall there was a gorgeous GT3RS for sale hereabouts in Burnt Hills NY, silver/black (I'm not enthralled with blaring orange color and splashy decals), flawless condition, 2200 miles, asking in the $90K's.

Of course, for the same money your married relation could have a Maranello.

She's not stuck on the orange, she saw a lack one with the orange lettering and accents,...looks pretty sweet. She has always been a Porsche person....I told her the same thing,..for the money we can add another F car into our garage

Actually I didn't. She has always loved cars, and actually prefer manual cars (rare for a girl, but makes it that much sexier! )

Anyways, she came to the GT3 RS all by her self.

It won't be her daily driver, because shell probably use the Suburban or Cayenne Turbo more, but it'll be like my F355 for her...when she wants to

That is a Rocket !

Celeste also prefers 6-speed P-mobiles, she's looking at stepping up to a Cabrio Carrera this year.
