New SUV

OK so my Range Rover has gone,
Now I want to replace it.....
Do I get:
the new Range Rover? has anyone driven it yet? but I would take the TDV8 not another petrol
Or a Cayenne Turbo S?
I use my SUV as a load lugger runs to airport to carry people and bags and will use it to lump the dogs around once I have the house move done and the dogs bought (German Shepherd x 2)
Ideas are most welcome, I had an order for a new Range Rover placed but the closer its gets the more I am unsure.
Also Mrs Habsy will also drive same car and that is why I think the new Range rover is too big for our narrow roads?
Or other ideas for a European brand?

Cars
458 coupe normale, California T, Speciale A, 458 GT3, FF Maserati Ghibli diesel!
on way in 2015: La F, and 488, 2016 488 spider

Porsche Cayenne GTS(much cheaper then Turbo, and also very good to drive) BMW X5M...
Why not a new RS6 station Paul? Also a very good car with a lot of space!

I drove both diesel engine versions of the new RR recently and it was a step change up from the previous model we enjoyed previously, I also have the RR 5.0, however, for & around the South of France it is far too large for the small roads which abound Paul. If you want a RR suggest you go try the RR Evoque, 5 door dynamic and then have a DMS remap completed....my wife loves hers and truth be told, so do I....for a couple or those will a small family + dogs it's a great 4x4 - albeit perhaps a tad tight in the back with 1 kid and a couple of German Shepherds!!!

Yesterday's history, tomorrow's a mystery, today's a gift.....enjoy every minute!

I'm probably biased, but I'd say Cayenne Turbo S, or the GTS.

I'd stay away from a X5M....just my opinion because I dislike BMWs a whole lot

Maserati GranTurismo MC - Giallo yellow
Porsche 911 GT3 RS - black with orange accents - wife's car
F355 Berlinetta - Giallo Modena, 6-speed manual, carbon sport seats -recently traded in
Porsche Cayenne Turbo S

I owned a 2011 G55 matte black AMG for about a year.

Loved it - nothing is like it ... suggest buying it.

It makes no sense but it's a ton of fun - sold it 5,000 miles later with a 10k profit.

i have a suburban...and i think if they OP is getting rid of his Range Rover, a Suburban won't cut it...in my opinion.

We traded in our MB GL450 SUV for the suburban because we just needed more space... 2 booster seats and 1 car seats dont fit too well in the GL!

i second the G55 or G63 AMG!

Paul- We have a GL 550 (last model) and love it. A bit more civilized than the G, and there is an AMG model available this year on the new chassis with up to 560 hp. Much more room than any of the other cars you mentioned, but they are large. The GL has won several SUV of the year awards here in the States. Good off-road, too. Ours goes fly fishing all the time.

Mike- There are three rows of seats in the GL. Did you not use the back row?

I get the feeling a G63 should be on the cards!
As it makes no sense and the residuals in Europe are solid.
But I think white is the way! need a break from black me thinks.
Mrs Habsy likes the idea of the madness of a G63 also!
And its smaller than a range Rover (that's how i am selling it to myself anyway)

Paul- Iridium Silver looks great, and so does red. White works, too and all those colors do not show dirt nearly as much as your black cars. I am too lazy to have a black car. They have to be kept clean all the time.

RS6 Avant is a good change of pace, might want to think of it. the 6 Avant can handle a 80kg Great dane without issue (he can turn 360 degrees without touching anything)

Taz, we did, but trying to climb back there with booster seats and/or child seats got old fast!

our Suburban has the 2 captain's chair in second row, so my 2 boys booster seats are in the third, and baby seat in 2nd row. the 2 boys can climb back there by themselves...much easier for us (theyre 3 yrs and 2 yrs old)

The smallest one and easiest to manoeuvre in tight quarters is the G, given its edgy squareness. I own a G400 Expedition and a G55. Get your AMG G and you will never look back, it's very cool!

You see I have always liked them from my days, months, years, in Russia and Ukraine in the late 90's and early 2000's when they where the first choice of Bizinesmen there! for winter rides against the S class for summer.
And I think all petrol heads if they can should own one as part of there experiences to tick off the bucket list.
I think its decided. G63 AMG
The RS6 btw I like but my wife attaches it too much with all other wagons and so it kills it for her!
The M3 is also going to make space for the new one also.

When I was at my RR dealer the other day to take a look at the black wheels I ordered for my wife's new Evoque they put me in the new RR. I always very much preferred the Sport (the current one is the 3rd in a row) but I must say it is very nice. Love what they did to the body and interior and the drive really impressed me.....You need an RR in the stable Paul! In terms of looks it beats the G63 by far IMHO

Its the size that is a killer for me though!
Mrs Paul will also drive it and down here the roads are small, and she will hit a full size RR thats for sure!
Looks wise I get you, but Its all a very hard call! I think a petrol head should always have a g wagon at some point..... is this my time? i wonder? The new range rover i love the rear seats option you can get like airplane seats.... and the v8 diesel will well be economical to say the least to the G..... but my god the G is just so cool!
